O-Powers and Mauville City Services

In your journey through the Hoenn region, two invaluable systems will significantly aid your progress: O-Powers, temporary boosts offering a wide array of benefits, and the bustling metropolis of Mauville City, a central hub for essential services. Mastering these will give you a distinct advantage in training, battling, and even collecting rare Pokémon.

Understanding O-Powers

O-Powers are special abilities that provide temporary boosts to you, your Pokémon, or even other players via StreetPass. These effects range from increasing experience gain to making Pokémon easier to catch, boosting stats in battle, or reducing prices at shops. Each O-Power has a specific duration and consumes a certain amount of "Energy," which is displayed on the bottom screen. Energy regenerates over time, or you can speed up its recovery by walking around or using the 3DS's StreetPass function.

Types of O-Powers and Their Effects:

  • HP Restoring Power: Restores a small amount of HP to your lead Pokémon.
  • PP Restoring Power: Restores a small amount of PP to your lead Pokémon's moves.
  • Attack Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's Attack stat in battle.
  • Defense Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's Defense stat in battle.
  • Sp. Atk Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's Special Attack stat in battle.
  • Sp. Def Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's Special Defense stat in battle.
  • Speed Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's Speed stat in battle.
  • Accuracy Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's Accuracy stat in battle.
  • Crit. Power: Temporarily increases your Pokémon's critical hit ratio in battle.
  • Exp. Point Power: Increases the experience points gained from battles. Extremely useful for leveling up quickly.
  • Prize Money Power: Increases the prize money earned from trainer battles. Great for funding your adventures.
  • Bargain Power: Reduces the price of items at shops. Perfect for stocking up on Poké Balls and Potions.
  • Capture Power: Makes wild Pokémon easier to catch. Essential for completing your Pokédex.
  • Encounter Power: Increases the encounter rate of wild Pokémon. Useful for finding specific Pokémon or grinding.
  • Stealth Power: Decreases the encounter rate of wild Pokémon. Handy for exploring without constant interruptions.
  • Hatching Power: Speeds up the hatching of Pokémon Eggs. A must-have for breeders.

Each O-Power has multiple levels (Lv. 1, Lv. 2, Lv. 3, and MAX), with higher levels providing stronger effects but costing more Energy. You unlock higher levels by using the O-Power repeatedly.
