- Why: Blazing fast Speed and high Attack, excellent against Dragon, Psychic, Ghost, and Grass types.

- Location: Any fishing spot with Old Rod (as Magikarp)
- Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) or Jolly (+Spe, -Sp.Atk)
- Ability: Intimidate (Lowers opponent's Attack)
- Held Item: Leftovers, Life Orb, Wacan Berry
- Moveset: Dragon Dance, Waterfall, Ice Fang / Stone Edge, Earthquake / Bounce
- Why: Intimidate is fantastic, Dragon Dance boosts its already great Attack and Speed, making it a potent sweeper.
Togekiss (Fairy/Flying - in Gen 4, Normal/Flying)
- Location: Evolve Togetic (from Togepi Egg) with a Shiny Stone
- Nature: Modest (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) or Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Ability: Serene Grace (Doubles chance of secondary effects)
- Held Item: Choice Scarf, Leftovers, Sitrus Berry
- Moveset: Air Slash (STAB, 60% flinch chance with Serene Grace), Aura Sphere, Flamethrower / Thunderbolt, Nasty Plot / Roost
- Why: Serene Grace Air Slash is incredibly annoying and powerful, good Special Attack, decent bulk.
