Strategy: Maylene's Fighting-type Pokémon are weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy (though Fairy types aren't in this game). Staraptor (evolved from Starly) is an excellent choice for its Flying-type moves. Psychic-types like Kadabra (evolved from Abra) or Gardevoir (if you traded for a Ralts) are also very effective. Lucario is her ace, with a powerful Aura Sphere. Be careful of its Steel typing, which resists many types. After defeating Maylene, you'll receive the Cobble Badge, allowing you to use Fly outside of battle, and TM60 (Drain Punch).
