Daily Events & NPCs
Sinnoh is a vibrant region, and even after you've conquered the Pokémon League, there's always something new to discover or a friendly face to revisit. Many NPCs offer daily interactions, free items, or even opportunities to battle, making it worthwhile to check in with them regularly. Maximizing these daily events can significantly boost your item collection, Pokémon training, and overall enjoyment of Pokémon Platinum.
Daily Item & Berry Giveaways
- Jubilife City TV Station Lottery: Visit the Jubilife TV Station daily and speak to the lady at the counter on the ground floor. She'll draw a lottery number based on the IDs of your current Pokémon. Matching digits (from the right) can win you prizes ranging from a Potion (1 digit) to a Master Ball (5 digits)! It's a long shot for the big prize, but free items are always welcome.
- Floaroma Town Berry Lady: In Floaroma Town, enter the house directly to the west of the Pokémon Center. A kind old lady inside will give you a random Berry once per day. This is an excellent way to stock up on useful Berries for contests, status healing, or even breeding.
- Eterna City Herb Shop: While not strictly "free," the Herb Shop in Eterna City (located to the left of the Pokémon Center) restocks its inventory daily. You can purchase various herbal medicines like EnergyPowder, Heal Powder, Energy Root, and Revival Herb. Be aware these items heal more but also lower your Pokémon's friendship.
- Veilstone City Massage Girl: In the house in the lower-left corner of Veilstone City, a woman will give one of your Pokémon a massage daily. This significantly increases its happiness, which is crucial for Pokémon that evolve via friendship (e.g., Chansey into Blissey, Golbat into Crobat) and for maximizing the power of moves like Return.
- Pastoria City Great Marsh Binoculars: For 100 Pokédollars, you can use the binoculars on the second floor of the Great Marsh entrance building. This allows you to see which rare Pokémon are appearing in specific areas of the Great Marsh that day. This changes daily, so check back if you're hunting for a particular Pokémon.
- Sunyshore City Lighthouse Lens Cleaner: After obtaining the National Pokédex, head to the Sunyshore City Lighthouse. Speak to the man who cleans the lens, and he will give you a random Heart Scale once per day. Heart Scales are invaluable for remembering forgotten moves at the Move Relearner in Pastoria City.
Daily Trainer Battles & Rematches
Once you've defeated the Elite Four, many trainers you've previously battled will be open to rematches. The Vs. Seeker (obtained from Dawn/Lucas in Route 207) is your best friend here. Use it in areas you've cleared to find trainers ready for a second round. These rematches offer increased experience and money, and some trainers even have stronger teams or evolved Pokémon.
- Pokémon Mansion (Route 212): Inside the Pokémon Mansion, speak to Mr. Backlot. He will tell you about a different rare Pokémon appearing in his Trophy Garden each day. This is the only way to encounter Pokémon like Eevee, Porygon, Castform, and others in the wild. Check daily to complete your Pokédex!
- Café Cabin (Route 210): The trainers inside the Café Cabin on Route 210 (the northern section) are often available for rematches. They provide good experience and are easily accessible.
- Survival Area Trainers: After defeating the Elite Four, the Survival Area becomes a hub for high-level trainers. Many of the trainers in the surrounding routes (Route 225, Route 226, Route 227, Route 228, Route 229) and the Battle Frontier itself will offer rematches via the Vs. Seeker, providing excellent post-game training opportunities.
Other Daily Activities
- Jubilife City Global Trade Station (GTS): While not strictly daily, the GTS is a constant hub for trading Pokémon with players worldwide. Check it regularly for Pokémon you might need or to offer up your own for trade.
- Underground Mining: The Sinnoh Underground offers limitless opportunities for digging up Fossils, Spheres, and Evolution Stones. The items you find are randomized, so frequent trips are encouraged, especially if you're hunting for specific items like Fire Stones or Water Stones.
- Amity Square Pokémon Walk: In Hearthome City, you can walk with certain "cute" Pokémon (like Pikachu, Clefairy, Pachirisu, etc.) in Amity Square. While walking, your Pokémon might find items such as Berries, Poffins, or even Evolution Stones. The items found are random, and you can only do this once per day per Pokémon.
- Pal Park Migrations: If you have a GBA Pokémon game, you can migrate Pokémon from it to your Pokémon Platinum game once every 24 hours via Pal Park, located on Route 221. This is essential for bringing over Pokémon not found in Sinnoh.
