At the beginning of your adventure, you'll choose your Ranger's gender and name. This choice is purely cosmetic and does not affect gameplay or stats. After this, you'll be introduced to your first and most loyal companion: your Partner Pokémon.
You'll have the option to choose between two Electric-type Pokémon:
- Minun: Known for its supportive nature, Minun's Field Move is 'Electric' which can power up certain mechanisms or stun multiple Pokémon during a capture.
- Plusle: More offensively oriented, Plusle's Field Move is also 'Electric' but often has a slightly different effect, sometimes focusing on a single, more powerful stun.
Both Minun and Plusle are excellent choices and will serve you well throughout your journey. Their 'Electric' Field Move is essential for many puzzles and captures. The choice largely comes down to personal preference, as their in-capture abilities are quite similar. Don't stress too much over this decision; you'll grow to love whichever partner you choose!
