Brawly, the second Gym Leader, specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon. His team includes a Level 16 Machop, a Level 16 Meditite, and a Level 19 Makuhita. Fighting-type Pokémon are weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy (Fairy not in Gen 3). Flying-type Pokémon like Swellow (evolved from Taillow) or Pelipper (evolved from Wingull) are excellent choices. A Psychic-type like Ralts (Route 102) is also incredibly effective. Meditite is Fighting/Psychic, so it's also weak to Flying and Ghost. Makuhita has the Guts ability, boosting its Attack if it has a status condition, so avoid poisoning or burning it. Focus on hitting them with super-effective moves to prevent them from setting up or dealing heavy damage. Reward: Knuckle Badge, TM08 Bulk Up.
