Akala Grand Trial
After successfully conquering all three trials scattered across the Akala region, you will be presented with the opportunity to face Kahuna Olivia in the Akala Grand Trial. Olivia is a renowned trainer who specializes in the formidable Rock-type Pokémon. Her ace Pokémon is a powerful Lycanroc, which notably takes on a different form depending on whether you are playing Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon; in Sun, it's the Midday Form, while in Moon, it's the Midnight Form. Both forms are potent physical attackers. To overcome Olivia's Rock-type lineup, you will need to utilize Pokémon and moves that exploit their inherent weaknesses. Water, Grass, Fighting, and Ground-type moves are all super effective against Rock-types, making them your primary offensive strategy. Consider Pokémon like Primarina (Water/Fairy), Decidueye (Grass/Ghost), Machamp (Fighting), or Golem (Rock/Ground). Olivia's team can be quite diverse, and Lycanroc itself is a significant threat. Its Rock-typing gives it resistances to Fire, Flying, Poison, and Electric attacks, but it is vulnerable to Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel. Be mindful of Lycanroc's high Speed and Attack stats. Having Pokémon with strong defensive capabilities against Rock-types, or those that can inflict status conditions like paralysis, can also be advantageous. Stocking up on healing items and Revives from the nearest Pokémon Center is highly recommended before initiating this challenging Grand Trial.
