Follow him to Professor Magnolia's lab, where you'll receive your first Pokémon. After choosing your starter, you'll have your first battle against Hop. Don't worry too much about winning or losing; it's a tutorial battle. Afterward, head back home to prepare for your journey. Your mother will give you some essential items.
