No longer are you stuck with the default look; now you can express your unique style through several clothing options, hairstyles, and accessories. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to become the most fashionable trainer in Kalos!
Getting Started with Customization
Your customization journey begins almost immediately. After choosing your gender, you'll be given a basic outfit. However, the real fun starts once you reach Santalune City.
- Santalune City Boutique: This is the very first clothing store you'll encounter. It's located on the main street, hard to miss. While its selection is limited, it's a great place to pick up some early accessories like hats and simple shirts to start personalizing your look. The prices here are generally quite affordable.
- Hair Salons: Also found in Santalune City (and later in Lumiose City), hair salons allow you to change your hairstyle and hair color. The Santalune City salon offers a few basic styles and colors. Experiment to find what suits you best!
Exploring Kalos's Fashion Hubs
As you progress through Kalos, more sophisticated boutiques will become available, offering a wider range of styles and higher-end items. Lumiose City, in particular, is a fashion paradise!

Lumiose City boasts several distinct fashion establishments, each catering to a different style and price point. Navigating this bustling metropolis can be tricky, so here's a breakdown:

There are numerous ways to subtly boost your Style. The more you engage with the world, the more fashionable you become!
- Riding a Gogoat Taxi: Taking a Gogoat Taxi in Lumiose City is a quick and easy way to gain a small Style boost.
- Buying Juices at the Juice Shoppe: Located in Lumiose City, purchasing drinks here contributes to your Style.
- Buying items at the Stone Emporium: Also in Lumiose City, buying evolutionary stones helps your Style.
- Buying items at the Herb Shop: Another Lumiose City establishment where purchases increase Style.
- Eating at Restaurants: Dining at any of the restaurants in Lumiose City (e.g., Sushi High Roller, Restaurant Le Nah) will give your Style a significant boost. The more expensive the meal, the more Style you gain.

Strategy Tip: To quickly boost your Style for access to the exclusive Lumiose City Boutique, focus on activities like eating at the more expensive restaurants, working at Hotel Richissime, and repeatedly buying the cheapest items from various Lumiose City shops (like the Juice Shoppe or Stone Emporium) until you notice new items appearing in the North Boulevard Boutique.
Changing Clothes and Saving Outfits
Once you've purchased new clothes, you can change into them at any time! Simply open your menu, navigate to your Bag, and select the "Clothes" tab. From there, you can mix and match your purchased items. There's no specific "dressing room" location needed once you own the items.
While there isn't a direct "save outfit" feature, your trainer will always appear in the last outfit you selected. So, feel free to experiment and find your perfect look!
