Controller Layout & Basic Controls — Pokémon Champions Guide

Master Pokémon Colosseum's controls with the GameCube controller, using the Analog Stick for movement and the A Button for actions and battles.

Navigating the world and engaging in battles in Pokémon Colosseum is intuitive with the GameCube controller. The Analog Stick is used for movement in the 3D environments, allowing you to explore cities and routes. The A Button is your primary action button, used for interacting with characters, selecting menu options, and confirming actions in battle. The B Button serves as the cancel button, allowing you to back out of menus or escape from certain situations.

The C-Stick is primarily used for camera control, allowing you to adjust your perspective and get a better view of your surroundings. The L and R Buttons are often used for quick menu access or specific battle commands. In battle, the Control Pad (Up, Down, Left, Right) typically navigates through your Pokémon's move list, items, or other battle options. The Start Button pauses the game and brings up the main menu, where you can check your Pokémon's status, manage your party, save your game, and access other important options. Familiarizing yourself with these controls will greatly enhance your gameplay experience.
