Endings Requirements

Post Trauma features multiple endings, each heavily influenced by your choices and discoveries throughout the game. Achieving a specific ending often hinges on collecting key lore items, making critical dialogue decisions, and interacting with certain environmental elements. This section will guide you through the requirements for each known ending.

The Truth Revealed (Good Ending)

This ending requires a thorough investigation into the facility's past and understanding the true nature of the "trauma." It emphasizes empathy and understanding over brute force.

  • Collect all 12 "Fragmented Memories" data logs: These are scattered throughout the research facility.
    • Memory 1-3: Found in the Initial Containment Wing, specifically in the patient cells and the central observation room.
    • Memory 4-6: Located in the Administrative Sector, within the Director's Office and the abandoned staff quarters. You'll need the Director's Keycard from the Security Office to access some of these.
    • Memory 7-9: Discovered in the Experimental Labs, particularly Lab A-03 and the Cryo-Chamber. A Lab Access Code (4821) found on a whiteboard in the breakroom is required for Lab A-03.
    • Memory 10-12: Hidden in the Sub-Levels, accessible after restoring power in the Generator Room. Look in the flooded archives and the final subject holding area.
  • Fully restore the "Project Echo" terminal: Located in the Main Research Hub. You'll need to find three Circuit Boards (one in the Maintenance Tunnels, one in the Cafeteria kitchen, and one dropped by the "Whispering Abomination" mini-boss in the West Wing) and the Terminal Override Code (7390) found in Dr. Aris's personal journal.
  • Confront the "Source" peacefully: During the final encounter in the Core Chamber, choose the dialogue option "I understand your pain" followed by "There's another way." This option only appears if all Fragmented Memories are collected and the Project Echo terminal is fully restored.

Descent into Madness (Bad Ending)

This ending is triggered by embracing the facility's horrors and succumbing to the overwhelming despair. It requires a more aggressive, less investigative playstyle.

  • Ignore or destroy all "Fragmented Memories": Do not pick up any of the 12 data logs. If you accidentally pick one up, you can "corrupt" it by interacting with a Corrupting Effigy (found in the East Wing storage room and the Sub-Level maintenance shaft).
  • Fail to restore the "Project Echo" terminal: Do not collect all Circuit Boards or the Terminal Override Code. Alternatively, simply do not interact with the terminal at all.
  • Engage the "Source" violently: During the final encounter in the Core Chamber, choose any aggressive dialogue option, such as "You will pay for this!" or immediately attack the entity without attempting dialogue. This is the default outcome if the conditions for the Good Ending are not met.
  • Accumulate high "Sanity Drain": Frequently use the Adrenaline Syringe item (found in medical cabinets and dropped by certain enemies) and spend extended periods in areas with high environmental stress (e.g., the Flesh Tunnels). Your Sanity Meter should be consistently low.

Escape (Neutral Ending)

This ending is achieved by prioritizing survival and escaping the facility without fully engaging with its mysteries or succumbing to its influence.

  • Collect at least 5 "Escape Route Schematics": These schematics detail alternative exits.
    • Schematic 1: In the Security Office, on the main desk.
    • Schematic 2: In the Cafeteria, taped to a pillar.
    • Schematic 3: In Lab B-07 (requires Lab Keycard B from the janitor's closet).
    • Schematic 4: In the Generator Room, near the main console.
    • Schematic 5: In the Flooded Archives, on a submerged shelf.
    • Schematic 6 (Optional): In the Ventilation Shafts leading to the surface, requires the Ventilation Access Tool found in the Maintenance Tunnels.
  • Do not collect more than 6 "Fragmented Memories": You can pick up some lore, but don't delve too deep.
  • Do not fully restore the "Project Echo" terminal: You can collect some Circuit Boards, but leave the terminal incomplete.
  • Activate the "Emergency Evacuation Protocol": This terminal is located in the Main Control Room, accessible after restoring power. You'll need the Evacuation Code (1987) found on a sticky note in the Security Chief's office.
  • Reach the Surface Exit: After activating the protocol, a new path will open in the Ventilation Shafts leading directly to the outside world, bypassing the Core Chamber entirely.
