Episode 4: The Mayhem in Primp

Welcome to Primp Town, where things are about to get a little… chaotic! This episode introduces some new faces and throws a few curveballs your way. Get ready to adapt your strategy and master some new mechanics.

Stage 4-1: Ringo vs. Arle - A Friendly Spar

  • Opponent: Arle Nadja
  • Game Mode: Versus
  • Strategy: This is a straightforward Versus match. Arle is a classic Puyo Puyo player, so expect her to build chains. Focus on clearing your own board efficiently. If you're playing Puyo Puyo, aim for 3-4 chain clears. If you're on Tetris, T-Spins are your best friend here. Don't be afraid to send garbage early to disrupt her chain building.
  • Item: No specific item drops in this stage.

Stage 4-2: Amitie's Dilemma - The Missing Books

  • Opponent: Amitie
  • Game Mode: Swap
  • Strategy: Swap mode requires quick thinking and adaptability. You'll be switching between Puyo Puyo and Tetris every 25 seconds. The key here is to not neglect either board. When in Puyo Puyo, try to set up a small chain (2-3) that can be triggered quickly. When in Tetris, focus on clearing lines and setting up T-Spins. Amitie tends to be a bit more aggressive in Swap, so be prepared for incoming garbage from both sides.
  • Item: Keep an eye out for the Attack Puyo item. If you get it, use it when your opponent is close to topping out or has a large chain set up.

Stage 4-3: The Mysterious Stranger - Ex vs. Ringo

  • Opponent: Ex
  • Game Mode: Skill Battle
  • Strategy: This is your first taste of Skill Battle against a more formidable opponent. Ex has some potent skills.
    • Recommended Skills:
      • Attack Boost: Increases your garbage output.
      • Defense Boost: Reduces incoming garbage.
      • HP Recovery: Crucial for staying in the fight.
    • Ex's Skills: Watch out for his "Time Stop" skill, which freezes your board for a short period, and his powerful "Mega Attack" which sends a large amount of garbage.
    • Tactics: Focus on clearing lines/chains quickly to build your MP and unleash your own skills. Use your Defense Boost when you see Ex charging a large attack. Don't be afraid to use HP Recovery if your health gets low.
  • Item: You might find a Shield Puyo or Shield Tetrimino here, which can absorb a small amount of garbage.

Stage 4-4: Primp Town Panic - Everyone vs. Dark Prince

This stage is a bit of a gauntlet, featuring multiple opponents in a row.

  • Opponent 1: Dark Prince (Puyo Puyo)
  • Game Mode: Versus
  • Strategy: Dark Prince is a classic Puyo Puyo chain master. Your best bet is to try and disrupt his chain building early with quick 2-3 chain attacks. Don't let him build a massive chain. If you're playing Tetris, focus on T-Spins and 4-line clears (Tetris clears) to send heavy garbage.
  • Item: Look for a Power-Up Puyo/Tetrimino to temporarily boost your attack.
  • Opponent 2: Dark Prince (Tetris)
  • Game Mode: Versus
  • Strategy: Now he's playing Tetris! Dark Prince is quite good at setting up T-Spins. Your strategy should be similar: disrupt him. If you're playing Puyo Puyo, aim for medium-sized chains (3-5). If you're on Tetris, try to out-T-Spin him or clear lines rapidly.
  • Item: A Clear Puyo/Tetrimino can be very useful here to clear your own board if things get messy.
  • Opponent 3: Dark Prince (Swap)
  • Game Mode: Swap
  • Strategy: This final encounter with Dark Prince in this stage is in Swap mode. He's proficient in both games. The key is to maintain a clean board on both sides. When you swap, immediately assess the new board and make a quick clear or setup. Don't let either side get too high. Use your garbage to pressure him constantly.
  • Item: The Barrier Puyo/Tetrimino is a great defensive item if you find it, protecting you from a certain amount of garbage.

Stage 4-5: The Primp Town Showdown - Ringo & Arle vs. Dark Prince & Satan

This is a challenging Tag Battle! You'll be controlling two characters and switching between them.

  • Opponents: Dark Prince & Satan
  • Game Mode: Tag
  • Strategy:
    • Character Switching: The core of Tag Battle is knowing when to switch. If one character's board is getting high, switch to the other to let the first character's board recover (garbage will be sent to the active character).
    • Tag Chains/Combos: Try to set up a chain/clear on one character, then switch and immediately trigger it with the other for a powerful Tag Combo! This sends a huge amount of garbage.
    • Fever Mode: When your Fever gauge fills, unleash it! Fever Mode allows for rapid chain building in Puyo Puyo or quick line clears in Tetris, sending massive garbage.
    • Targeting: Focus your attacks on one opponent at a time to take them out quicker. Satan is often the more dangerous Puyo Puyo player, while Dark Prince can be strong in Tetris. Adapt to who is causing you more trouble.
  • Item: In Tag Battle, you'll often find Team Attack Boost or Team Defense Boost items. Use them strategically to gain an edge. The All Clear Puyo/Tetrimino is also incredibly powerful if you can get it, clearing your entire board.

Good luck, and remember to practice your chain and line clear setups! Primp Town needs you!
