The culmination of your efforts in Mission 10 brings you face-to-face with Nemerov, the primary antagonist. Nemerov is a heavily armored operative, making him resistant to standard ballistic damage. His primary offensive tool is the "Kinetic Shield," a deployable energy barrier that absorbs a significant amount of incoming fire. He also wields a devastating "Plasma Cannon," capable of area-of-effect damage that can quickly deplete your squad's health. The key to defeating Nemerov lies in exploiting the vulnerabilities of his Kinetic Shield and managing the environmental hazards he creates.
When Nemerov deploys his Kinetic Shield, direct fire onto it will be ineffective. Instead, your team must focus on flanking maneuvers to attack him from the sides or rear, where the shield offers less protection. Alternatively, certain high-explosive ordnance, such as the "EMP Grenade," can temporarily disable his shield, creating a critical window for concentrated fire. Be prepared for Nemerov to reposition himself frequently, often using cover to his advantage. His Plasma Cannon has a distinct charge-up sound, giving you a brief warning to seek cover or deploy your own defensive abilities. The arena for this boss fight is often littered with explosive barrels; these can be used against Nemerov if you can lure him near them or shoot them when he is in close proximity.
A common pitfall when fighting Nemerov is focusing all fire on his shield, wasting precious ammunition and time. Another mistake is failing to react to his Plasma Cannon's charge-up, leading to unnecessary team wipes. Remember that Nemerov's armor has specific weak points, typically around the joints of his suit and his helmet. Precision shots to these areas will deal critical damage. If your team is struggling with his shield, consider equipping operatives with weapons that have high penetration power, such as the "Barrett M82" sniper rifle, which can sometimes bypass a portion of the shield's effectiveness. Coordinate your EMP Grenade usage with your team's heaviest hitters to maximize damage output during the shield downtime.
