Phases & Attacks:

  • Tentacle Slams: Plant 42 will slam its tentacles down, dealing heavy damage.
  • Acid Spit: Spits corrosive acid, which can poison you.
  • Ceiling Drop: Occasionally drops from the ceiling, making it harder to hit.

Weaknesses:

  • V-JOLT: If you used V-JOLT on its roots, Plant 42 will be significantly weakened, making the fight much easier. This is highly recommended.
  • Flame Rounds (Jill's Bazooka): Extremely effective.
  • Flamethrower (Chris): Also very effective.
  • Shotgun: Good alternative if other options aren't available.

Strategy:

With V-JOLT: If you successfully used V-JOLT, Plant 42 will be much less aggressive and take significantly more damage. As Jill, 2-3 Flame Rounds from the Bazooka will finish it. As Chris, a few Shotgun blasts or a short burst from the Flamethrower will suffice. The fight will be over very quickly.

Without V-JOLT: This is a much tougher fight. Plant 42 will be highly aggressive. As Jill, use Acid Rounds or Grenade Rounds from the Bazooka, or your Shotgun. As Chris, rely on your Shotgun, aiming for the central bulb. Keep moving to avoid its tentacle slams and acid spit. Use the corners of the room to create distance. This fight will consume a lot of ammunition and healing items. Prioritize dodging and only fire when you have a clear shot. Be prepared for poison and have Blue Herbs ready.
