Location:
Library (Mansion, 2F)

Phases & Attacks:
- Phase 1 (First Encounter): Yawn will appear in the library. It primarily uses a biting attack and can coil around you. Its main threat is its ability to poison.
- Phase 2 (Second Encounter): After retreating, Yawn reappears later in the game. It's more aggressive and still capable of poisoning.
Weaknesses:
- Head: Aim for its head for maximum damage.
- Shotgun/Magnum: These are your best weapons.
Strategy:
First Encounter: Your goal here is not to defeat Yawn, but to survive and escape. Fire a few Shotgun shells into its head (3-4 shots) to stun it, then immediately run out of the room. If you get poisoned, use a Blue Herb or a mixed herb with Blue Herb. Don't waste all your ammo trying to kill it here.
Second Encounter: This time, you must defeat it. Equip your Shotgun or, if you have it, the Magnum. Keep your distance and continuously fire at its head. Yawn moves in a predictable pattern, often circling the room. Try to bait its attack, then move and fire. If it coils around you, quickly mash buttons to escape. If you have the Bazooka (Jill) with Flame Rounds, it's highly effective. Chris can use the Flamethrower if he has it, but Shotgun is generally better. Be prepared with healing items and Blue Herbs.
While Yawn’s poison mechanics provide a slow-burning threat in the original game, Resident Evil 3 (Remake) focuses on high-octane evasion during its own cinematic boss encounters.
While the original Yawn relies on poison and size, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 features the similarly massive Giant Albino Crawler, which uses camouflage to ambush players.
