Ammunition is a precious resource. Not every enemy needs to be killed. Often, it's more efficient to simply run past zombies or Lickers, especially in areas you've already cleared or know you won't be returning to. When you must fight, aim for critical spots: headshots for zombies (though not always a one-shot kill), and the brain for Lickers. Use the Combat Knife for downed enemies to save ammo. Save your most powerful weapons (Magnum, Grenade Launcher) for boss fights or particularly dangerous elite enemies. Don't waste powerful rounds on common zombies unless absolutely necessary.
