This is your first encounter with the mutated William Birkin. He's large, slow, but incredibly powerful. His primary attack is a wide swing with his claw. He also has a charge attack. The key to this fight is to target the large, glowing eyeball on his right shoulder. For Leon, the Shotgun is highly effective, especially when fired at close range into the eye. For Claire, the Grenade Launcher with Explosive Rounds or the Bowgun aimed at the eye works well. Keep your distance, fire a few shots, and then retreat to avoid his swings. He's vulnerable after an attack, so use those openings. This fight takes place in a relatively open area, allowing for good maneuverability. Conserve your strongest ammo for the eye.
