The Sewers are a labyrinthine nightmare, filled with monstrous creatures and tricky environmental puzzles. Navigating this area effectively requires careful resource management and a keen eye for detail. This section will guide you through the key puzzles and objectives to ensure your survival.

The Water Control Room & Chess Plugs

Your primary goal in the initial sewer section is to restore power and open a critical gate. This involves finding three unique Chess Plugs and activating the Water Control Room.

Locating the Chess Plugs:
- King Plug: This is typically found relatively early. After entering the sewers, explore the immediate surrounding areas. It's often in a small, accessible room or on a ledge near the initial entrance.
- Rook Plug: The Rook Plug is usually located deeper within the sewer system, often requiring you to navigate through flooded passages or past groups of enemies. Keep an eye out for side passages and elevated platforms.
- Knight Plug: The Knight Plug is often the most challenging to acquire, sometimes requiring a detour through a different section of the sewers or a mini-boss encounter. It might be in a room accessible only after draining a specific water level.
The Water Control Room:
- Once you have all three Chess Plugs, make your way to the Water Control Room. This room is identifiable by a large control panel with three slots.
- Insert the King, Rook, and Knight Plugs into their respective slots on the control panel. The order usually doesn't matter for activation, but ensure all three are placed.
- Activating the panel will drain a section of the sewers, opening up new pathways and revealing previously inaccessible areas.

The Main Power Grid Puzzle

After draining the water, you'll gain access to the Main Power Grid area, which features a circuit board puzzle essential for progressing.

Accessing the Power Grid: Follow the newly accessible path after draining the water. You'll eventually reach a room with a large, damaged power panel.
The Circuit Board:
- Examine the power panel. You'll notice several missing fuses or circuit breakers. Your objective is to find the correct replacements.
- Fuse Locations:
  - Small Fuse (x2): These are often found in nearby storage rooms or on the bodies of fallen enemies in the immediate vicinity of the power grid. Search thoroughly!
  - Large Fuse (x1): The Large Fuse is typically located further away, sometimes requiring you to backtrack slightly or explore a new branch of the sewers that opened up after the water drainage.
- Installation: Once you have all the necessary fuses, return to the power panel. Carefully place each fuse into its corresponding slot. The game will usually provide visual cues or a prompt when a fuse is correctly placed.
- Activation: After all fuses are installed, activate the main switch on the power panel. This will restore power to a critical gate or elevator, allowing you to proceed to the next area.

Sub-Sewer Valve & Crank

Later in the sewers, you'll encounter a section that requires manipulating water flow using a valve and a crank to open a path.

Locating the Crank: The Crank is a crucial item for this puzzle. It's often found in a small, isolated room or on a platform that requires careful navigation to reach. Be prepared for potential enemy encounters on your way.
The Valve Mechanism:
- With the Crank in hand, find the large valve mechanism. This is usually located in a flooded corridor or a room with multiple water channels.
- Use the Crank on the valve. This will typically divert water flow, either raising or lowering water levels in adjacent areas.
- Strategic Water Diversion: The goal is to manipulate the water levels to create a walkable path or to reveal an otherwise submerged door or ladder. Experiment with turning the valve in different directions until the desired path is clear.

Remember to save frequently in the Sewers, as enemies are plentiful and resources can be scarce. Good luck, and try not to get lost in the dark!
