While the overall layout and objectives remain similar, key item acquisitions, particularly weapons, differ between the two protagonists. This guide will cover both scenarios to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Accessing the Underground & Parking Garage

After successfully placing all three Medallions into the Goddess Statue in the Main Hall, the secret passage beneath it will open, revealing a hidden elevator. Take this elevator down to the Underground area.

Navigate through the initial corridors of the Underground. Be wary of Zombies that may be present. Your primary goal here is to reach the Parking Garage, but first, there's a crucial weapon to acquire:

• Weapon Locker Acquisition: As you progress, you will encounter a Weapon Locker. To open it, you need the Weapons Locker Key Card, which is found in the Art Room (2F, RPD East Office). If you haven't acquired it yet, you'll need to backtrack.
• Leon's Weapon: If playing as Leon S. Kennedy, interacting with the Weapon Locker using the Key Card will grant you the powerful W-870 Shotgun. This weapon is excellent for crowd control and dealing significant damage at close range.
• Claire's Weapon: If playing as Claire Redfield, interacting with the Weapon Locker using the Key Card will yield the versatile GM 79 Grenade Launcher. This weapon is invaluable for its ability to fire different types of rounds (Flame, Acid) to stun or eliminate groups of enemies and bosses.

Continue through the Underground until you reach the expansive Parking Garage (B1). Upon entering, you'll immediately be confronted by a pack of Cerberus (zombie dogs). These enemies are fast and aggressive; prioritize eliminating them quickly to avoid taking heavy damage. The Shotgun (Leon) or Grenade Launcher (Claire) are highly effective here.

Objective: Obtain the Parking Garage Key Card

Your main objective in this area is to find the Parking Garage Key Card, which is necessary to open the shutter leading out of the garage. This involves a series of steps:

1. Locate the Kennel: From the Parking Garage, head towards the eastern side to find the entrance to the Kennel.
2. Acquire the Dog Kennel Key: Inside the Kennel, you'll find the Dog Kennel Key. This key is often located on a shelf or table within the main kennel room. Be prepared for more Cerberus encounters here, as they are often locked in cages that can break open.
3. Access the Morgue: Use the Dog Kennel Key to unlock the door leading to the Morgue, which is adjacent to the Kennel.
4. Explore the Morgue: The Morgue is a dark and unsettling area. Proceed with caution. You'll need to examine the various body trays. On one of the trays, you will discover the Diamond Key.
5. Unlock the Autopsy Room: With the Diamond Key in hand, backtrack slightly to locate the door to the Autopsy Room. Use the Diamond Key to gain entry.
6. Retrieve the Parking Garage Key Card: Inside the Autopsy Room, you will find the Parking Garage Key Card. It's typically on a desk or examination table.

Exiting the Parking Garage & Encounter

Once you have the Parking Garage Key Card, prepare for a significant encounter. As you attempt to leave the Autopsy Room or the Morgue and head back towards the Parking Garage, you will trigger a scripted event:

• Leon's Campaign: You will be ambushed by Marvin Branagh, who has now succumbed to the virus. He will attack you as a powerful zombie. This is a tense moment, as Marvin is faster and more resilient than standard zombies.
• Claire's Campaign: You will encounter Chief Irons, who will attempt to capture you. This encounter is more narrative-driven than combat-focused, but it sets up future events.

After dealing with the immediate threat (or escaping it), proceed back to the Parking Garage. Use the Parking Garage Key Card on the card reader next to the large shutter to open it and advance to the next area.

Key Items & Collectibles in this Area

• Ammunition: Various types of ammo (Handgun, Shotgun Shells, Grenade Rounds) can be found scattered throughout the Underground, Kennel, and Morgue.

Strategy Tips & Common Pitfalls

• Cerberus Management: Cerberus are quick and can inflict the "Poison" status effect if they bite you. Aim for headshots or use area-of-effect weapons (like the Grenade Launcher) to take them down efficiently. If playing as Leon, the Shotgun is excellent for one-shotting them at close range.
• Morgue Caution: The Morgue can be claustrophobic. Be aware of potential jump scares or zombies playing dead on the trays. Always check bodies thoroughly, but be ready for them to reanimate.
• Inventory Management: The Underground and Parking Garage areas can be item-heavy. Ensure you have enough inventory space, especially before picking up key weapons like the Shotgun or Grenade Launcher. Consider using a Item Box if one is nearby before entering these areas.
• Resource Conservation: While the new weapons are powerful, try to conserve ammunition for tougher encounters ahead. Handgun rounds are generally plentiful, so use them for standard zombies when possible.
• Map Awareness: Constantly check your map (M key on PC, Touchpad on PS, View button on Xbox) to ensure you haven't missed any rooms or items. Rooms that are still red indicate uncollected items.
