Mastering the controls is paramount for survival. You'll primarily use the left stick for movement and the right stick for camera control. Aiming is done by holding L2/LT and firing with R2/RT. Remember to reload frequently by pressing R2/RT after aiming, or quickly by pressing Square/X. The quick turn (down + circle/B) is a lifesaver for escaping tight situations. Practice these in a safe area before engaging enemies.
