Post-Game Content

Congratulations, survivor! You've navigated the horrors of Raccoon City and made it out alive. But the nightmare isn't over yet. Resident Evil 2 Remake offers a wealth of additional challenges and unlockables to keep you on your toes. This section will guide you through all the post-game content, from the challenging 2nd Run scenarios to the elusive Tofu Survivor.

The 2nd Run Scenarios

Upon completing either Leon's or Claire's A scenario, you'll unlock their respective 2nd Run (B) scenario. These are not just simple replays; they offer a fresh perspective on the story with altered enemy placements, different item locations, and a significantly increased difficulty. You'll start with a different weapon and face Mr. X much earlier in the game.

Key Differences in 2nd Run:

  • Starting Weapons:
    • Leon (2nd Run): Starts with the M19 Handgun and a small amount of ammunition.
    • Claire (2nd Run): Starts with the MQ 11 SMG and a small amount of ammunition.
  • Item Locations: Essential items like keys, weapon parts, and even some puzzle solutions are moved. Always be on the lookout and don't rely on your A scenario memory.
  • Enemy Placement: Expect more zombies, lickers in unexpected places, and even early encounters with G-Adults in the sewers.
  • Mr. X: The Tyrant makes his appearance much earlier, often as soon as you retrieve the first medallion in the RPD Main Hall. Be prepared for constant pursuit.
  • Story Variations: While the core narrative remains, you'll experience different opening and closing sequences, and some character interactions will be altered.

Strategy Tip: Prioritize conserving ammunition and utilizing defensive items like Combat Knives and Grenades. Knowing the map layout from your first playthrough is crucial, but be ready to adapt to new threats.

Unlockable Weapons and Costumes

Completing various scenarios and achieving specific ranks will reward you with powerful new weapons and stylish costumes for Leon and Claire. These can be accessed from the "Extra Content" menu.

Weapon Unlocks:

  • Infinite Combat Knife: Achieve an S Rank on any Standard or Hardcore difficulty scenario. This knife is unbreakable and incredibly useful for conserving ammo.
  • LE 5 (Infinite Ammo SMG): Achieve an S Rank on any Hardcore difficulty scenario. This powerful SMG comes with unlimited ammunition, making subsequent playthroughs much easier.
  • ATM-4 (Infinite Ammo Rocket Launcher): Achieve an S+ Rank on Leon's Hardcore scenario. This is the ultimate weapon for clearing out hordes and bosses.
  • Minigun (Infinite Ammo): Achieve an S+ Rank on Claire's Hardcore scenario. Similar to the Rocket Launcher, this provides unlimited firepower for Claire.

Costume Unlocks:

  • Noir Costumes (Leon & Claire): Complete Leon's A scenario and Claire's A scenario respectively. These stylish outfits give the game a classic film noir aesthetic.
  • Arklay Sheriff Costume (Leon): Complete Leon's 2nd Run scenario.
  • Military Costume (Claire): Complete Claire's 2nd Run scenario.
  • Elza Walker Costume (Claire): Complete Claire's A scenario.

The 4th Survivor

Unlock this challenging bonus mode by completing either Leon's or Claire's 2nd Run scenario with an A rank or higher. You play as Hunk, the "Grim Reaper" of the Umbrella Security Service, as he attempts to escape the RPD and reach the sewers with limited resources and a gauntlet of enemies.

Hunk's Loadout:

  • Matilda Handgun: Your primary weapon.
  • W-870 Shotgun: Excellent for crowd control.
  • Lightning Hawk Magnum: Your heavy hitter for powerful enemies.
  • Frag Grenades: Essential for clearing paths.
  • Flash Grenades: Useful for stunning Lickers and G-Adults.
  • First Aid Spray: Your only healing item.

Strategy for The 4th Survivor:

  • Route Memorization: Hunk's path is fixed. Learn the optimal route through the RPD and sewers to minimize encounters.
  • Enemy Avoidance: Don't engage every enemy. Sprint past zombies when possible, and use grenades to clear paths through tight corridors.
  • Prioritize Threats: Use the Shotgun on groups of zombies or Lickers. Save Magnum rounds for tougher enemies like the Ivy or G-Adults.
  • Knife Usage: The Combat Knife is invaluable for finishing off downed enemies or fending off single zombies to conserve ammo.
  • Timing is Key: Learn enemy patrol patterns and the best moments to sprint through areas.

The Tofu Survivor

This notoriously difficult and humorous bonus mode is unlocked by completing The 4th Survivor. You play as Tofu, a giant block of sentient tofu, armed only with an absurd amount of Combat Knives and a few healing items. Each of Tofu's "friends" (Konjac, Uiro-Mochi, Pudding, and Annin Tofu) also have their own unique loadouts and are unlocked by completing Tofu Survivor with Tofu.

Tofu's Loadout:

  • Combat Knives: You start with a massive stack of these. They are your only offensive weapon.
  • Green Herbs: Limited healing.

Strategy for The Tofu Survivor:

  • Master Knife Combat: This mode forces you to become a master of the Combat Knife. Aim for headshots on zombies, and learn to parry attacks.
  • Crowd Control: Knives are poor for groups. Use the environment to your advantage, funneling enemies into narrow spaces where you can pick them off one by one.
  • Run and Dodge: Your best defense is often to simply avoid enemies. Tofu has a surprisingly small hitbox.
  • Patience: This mode is a test of endurance and precision. Don't rush, and plan your movements carefully.
