Walkthrough - Press Office
Welcome to the Press Office, Jill. This area can be a bit tricky due to the tight corridors and the potential for multiple zombie encounters. Stay alert and manage your resources wisely.
Initial Exploration and Item Collection
- Upon entering the Press Office, immediately turn right. You'll find a small alcove with a desk.
- Examine the desk to find a box of Handgun Ammo. Always useful!
- Proceed further into the main office area. Be cautious, as there are usually two to three zombies shambling around.
- Strategy: If you're low on ammo or want to conserve, try to bait them into a line and use a single shotgun blast, or simply run past them if you're confident in your dodging skills. Headshots with the Handgun are effective if you have the space.
- Once the immediate threat is dealt with (or avoided), head towards the far end of the room, near the large windows.
- On a small table or cabinet here, you'll discover a Green Herb. Combine it with other herbs if you have them for stronger healing.
- Look for a filing cabinet or a stack of papers in this same general area. You should find the Reporter's Notebook. This file provides some background lore and hints about the city's collapse.
The Locked Door and the Key
Your primary objective in the Press Office is to find a way through the locked door at the back. This door requires a specific key.
- Locate the smaller, partitioned-off office area within the main Press Office. It's usually towards the left side as you enter from the main corridor.
- Inside this smaller office, there's a desk with a typewriter. This is a safe spot to save your game if needed.
- Near the typewriter, on the desk or a nearby shelf, you'll find the crucial item: the Press Office Key. pick it up!
- Before leaving this smaller office, check the walls for any posters or notes. Sometimes, a hidden Ink Ribbon can be found tacked to a bulletin board, especially useful if you're saving often.
Exiting the Press Office
- With the Press Office Key in hand, head back to the locked door you identified earlier. It's typically located on the opposite side of the room from where you entered.
- Use the Press Office Key to unlock the door.
- Important: Once you use the key, it will be discarded automatically.
- Proceed through the now-unlocked door. This will lead you to a new section of the Raccoon City Police Department, often connecting to the Main Hall or another corridor. Be prepared for new threats on the other side!
