Walkthrough - Sales Office
Welcome, S.T.A.R.S. operative. This section will guide you through the perilous Sales Office, a key area in your escape from Raccoon City. Expect close-quarters combat and crucial item acquisition. Stay alert, and conserve your ammunition.
Entering the Sales Office
From the main street, proceed through the double doors marked "Sales Office." Be prepared for immediate threats upon entry.
- Initial Encounter: As you step inside, two zombies will shamble towards you. A well-placed shotgun blast can dispatch them quickly, or you can opt to run past them if you're low on ammo.
- Item - Handgun Ammo: Immediately to your left, on a small table near the entrance, you'll find a box of Handgun Ammo. Grab it, every bullet counts.
Exploring the Main Sales Floor
The main sales floor is a relatively open area, but don't let its appearance fool you. More undead lurk within.
- Zombie Patrol: Another two to three zombies are typically patrolling the aisles. Engage them carefully, using the environment to your advantage. Try to line them up for a single shot if possible.
- Item - Green Herb: In the far corner of the main sales floor, near a knocked-over display, you'll discover a Green Herb. Combine it with another for a potent healing item, or save it for emergencies.
- File - Sales Report: On a desk in the center of the room, you'll find the Sales Report file. Read it for some flavor text and a glimpse into the Raccoon City outbreak's early days.
The Back Office
Locate the door at the back of the sales floor, leading to a smaller, more enclosed back office area. This room is vital for progression.
- Zombie Ambush: As you enter the back office, a single zombie may burst from behind a filing cabinet. Be ready to react quickly.
- Item - Office Key: The primary objective in this room is the Office Key. It's usually found on a desk or hanging on a pegboard. This key is essential for unlocking further areas in the building.
- Item - Shotgun Shells: Check the shelves and drawers in the back office thoroughly. You can often find a box of Shotgun Shells here, a valuable resource for dealing with tougher enemies.
- Optional - Locker Search: There's a small locker in this room. If you have a Lockpick (obtained earlier in the game), you can open it for additional supplies, often a First Aid Spray or more ammunition.
Exiting the Sales Office
Once you have secured the Office Key and any other valuable items, it's time to move on. You can either backtrack through the main sales floor or look for an alternative exit if available (though typically, you'll exit the way you came for now).
- Prepare for Return: Remember the layout and potential zombie respawn points. You may need to pass through this area again later.
