Walkthrough - Water Treatment Plant
Welcome to the Water Treatment Plant, a crucial area for progressing through the latter half of Resident Evil 3. This section will guide you through its treacherous corridors, ensuring you collect all necessary items and overcome the lurking dangers.
Initial Exploration & Item Collection
- Upon entering the Water Treatment Plant, you'll find yourself in a main corridor. Immediately proceed forward.
- First Room (Control Room):
- Head into the first door on your right. This is a small control room.
- On the console, you'll find the Facility Map. Grab this to help navigate the complex layout.
- Also in this room, on a small table, is a box of Handgun Ammo.
- Exit the control room and continue down the main corridor.
- Storage Room:
- Further down the main corridor, take the next door on your left. This leads to a storage area.
- Be wary of a single Zombie here; dispatch it quickly.
- On a shelf, you'll discover a valuable Green Herb.
- Near the back, locate the Wrench. This tool is essential for later puzzles.
- Exit the storage room.
Navigating the Lower Levels
Your next objective is to access the lower levels of the plant to restore power and manipulate water flow.
- Stairwell Descent:
- Continue past the storage room to the end of the main corridor. You'll find a door leading to a stairwell.
- Descend the stairs. Be prepared for a few more Zombies on the way down. Conserve ammo if possible, or use careful dodging.
- Pump Room:
- At the bottom of the stairs, you'll enter a large pump room.
- Immediately to your right, on a workbench, is a box of Shotgun Shells.
- On the far side of the room, you'll see a large, inactive pump mechanism.
- Use the Wrench on the exposed pipe connection near the pump to tighten it. This will allow water flow once power is restored.
- Before leaving, check the small alcove to the left of the pump for a First Aid Spray.
Power Restoration
With the pump ready, you now need to restore power to the facility.
- Generator Room:
- From the pump room, take the only other exit, which leads to a grimy corridor.
- Follow this corridor until you reach a door on your right. This is the Generator Room.
- Inside, you'll find the main power console.
- Interact with the console. You'll need to solve a simple circuit puzzle to restore power. The goal is to connect the circuit without overloading it. Typically, this involves selecting the correct sequence of switches. If you fail, you'll take minor damage.
- Once power is restored, the lights will come on, and you'll hear machinery whirring to life.
- On a crate near the generator, pick up the Machine Oil. This will be used later.
- Exit the Generator Room.
Water Flow Control
With power back, it's time to get the water flowing.
- Return to Pump Room:
- Head back through the grimy corridor to the Pump Room.
- Now that power is on, interact with the main control panel for the pump.
- Activate the pump. You'll see a short cutscene of water flowing.
- Valve Room:
- Exit the Pump Room and ascend the stairwell back to the main corridor on the upper level.
- Proceed to the very end of the main corridor, past where you initially entered.
- You'll find a door leading to a small Valve Room.
- Inside, there's a large valve wheel. Use the Machine Oil on the stiff valve to lubricate it.
- Now, turn the valve. This will divert the water flow, opening up a new path.
