Farm and Lakeside Settlement

After the village square, proceed through the gate that was previously locked. You'll enter a farm area. Be cautious of the Ganados here, especially those with scythes. There's a small barn where you can find some Handgun Ammo and a Yellow Herb. Combine the Yellow Herb with Green and Red Herbs to increase your maximum health. Continue through the farm, disarming any tripwires you encounter. You'll eventually reach a small lakeside settlement. Here, you'll find your first Merchant. This is a crucial opportunity to sell any treasures you've found (like the Elegant Mask from the Village Square well) and upgrade your weapons. Prioritize upgrading your Handgun's power and capacity. You can also purchase a Treasure Map: Village from the Merchant, which will mark all hidden treasures on your map.
