Ramon Salazar, the eccentric and deranged castellan of the castle, presents a unique and challenging boss encounter in Resident Evil 4 (Remake). His fight is a multi-stage ordeal that tests your ability to adapt to changing mechanics and exploit his parasitic enhancements. Salazar himself is not the primary threat; rather, it's the monstrous G.I.M. (Giant Infected Monster) he controls that you must overcome.

The battle begins with Salazar in his G.I.M. form, a colossal, plant-like monstrosity with a massive maw and tendrils. The arena is a circular chamber with several platforms. Salazar will periodically emerge from the G.I.M.'s body, exposing himself as a weak point. Your primary objective is to damage Salazar directly whenever he appears. He will also utilize the G.I.M.'s tendrils to attack, sweeping across the arena or attempting to grab Leon. Dodge these attacks and look for openings. The Stingray Rifle is excellent for hitting Salazar from a distance when he's exposed. The Broken Butterfly Magnum can also deal significant damage. After taking enough damage, Salazar will retreat into the G.I.M., and the monster will begin to spew acid and launch projectiles. During this phase, you need to focus on avoiding its attacks and waiting for Salazar to reappear. There are also explosive barrels in the arena that can be shot to deal extra damage to the G.I.M. The second phase of the fight involves Salazar using his parasitic enhancements to create smaller, mutated creatures that will attack you. These smaller enemies can be a nuisance, so prioritize taking them out quickly with your Riot Gun or SG-09 R. Salazar will also use his G.I.M. form to try and crush you. Keep moving and utilize the platforms to your advantage. The key to this fight is patience and precision. Don't get greedy with your attacks; wait for clear shots at Salazar when he's vulnerable. Conserve your magnum ammo for when it truly counts. If you have any Flash Grenades, they can be useful for stunning the smaller mutated creatures. After a grueling battle, Salazar will be defeated, and you'll obtain the Key of the Castle, allowing you to progress further into the game.
