Attachable Cases & Storage
Managing your inventory is a critical aspect of survival in Resident Evil 4 (Remake), and the Attachable Cases play a vital role in this. These cases determine the number of items you can carry at any given time, and their size can be upgraded by the Merchant. Efficiently organizing your inventory within these cases can mean the difference between life and death, ensuring you always have the right tools for the job when you need them most.
You start the game with a small attaché case, offering limited storage space. As you progress, you'll encounter the Merchant, who offers larger cases for purchase. These upgrades are essential, as they allow you to carry more ammunition, healing items, treasures, and weapons. The Merchant offers three case upgrades: the Small Case (default), the Medium Case, and the Large Case. Each subsequent case significantly increases your inventory capacity. The Merchant also offers a Charms Holder, which attaches to the back of your case and allows you to equip charms, providing passive bonuses. The key to effective inventory management is strategic organization. Consider what items you'll need for the upcoming areas. For instance, if you know a boss fight is imminent, ensure you have plenty of healing items and powerful ammunition. If you're heading into an area with many enemies, prioritize ammunition for your most effective weapons. Treasures can often be combined with gems to increase their sell value, so it's wise to hold onto them until you can maximize their worth. Weapons take up multiple slots, so choose wisely which ones you carry. You can always return to the Merchant to sell unwanted items or purchase new weapons. The layout of the attaché case itself is a Tetris-like puzzle. Items are represented by blocks of varying sizes, and you must arrange them efficiently to maximize space. Experiment with different arrangements to find the most optimal configurations. For example, placing the Shotgun vertically might save space compared to placing it horizontally. The Primal Knife, once unlocked, is a permanent fixture and doesn't take up inventory space, but its upgrades do. Mastering the attaché case system is a subtle but crucial skill that will greatly enhance your overall gameplay experience.
