Chapter 5 throws you into a desperate escape from the village after a brutal encounter. You'll face the terrifying El Gigante, a hulking monstrosity that demands precise aiming and strategic use of your environment. Surviving this chapter requires quick thinking, resourcefulness, and a solid understanding of combat mechanics.

The chapter begins with Leon and Ashley separated and under heavy attack. Your primary objective is to reunite with Ashley and find a way out of the increasingly dangerous village. The path forward is fraught with Ganados, some of whom will be wielding new, more aggressive weapons. Pay close attention to your surroundings; environmental hazards can be just as deadly as the enemies themselves.

The first major hurdle is the appearance of El Gigante. This boss fight is a true test of your combat prowess. El Gigante is slow but incredibly powerful, capable of crushing Leon with its massive hands and throwing boulders. The key to defeating it lies in targeting its exposed Plaga on its back. When it bends over to attack, aim for the glowing red parasite. Ashley, if she's with you, can also assist by shooting at its weak points. Utilize the environment to your advantage; there are barrels and explosive items scattered around the arena that can deal significant damage. conserve ammunition, as you'll need it for the subsequent encounters. After the El Gigante is dealt with, the escape route becomes clearer, but the village remains a hostile territory.
