Key Objectives:

  • Navigate the ship's deck under heavy enemy fire.
  • Defeat numerous armored Majini, including specialized variants.
  • Activate two separate bridge switches to gain access to the ship's interior.
  • Conserve powerful ammunition for the upcoming Uroboros Aheri boss fight.

Recommended Loadout & Strategy:

For this chapter, prioritize weapons that offer a good balance of crowd control and single-target damage. Given the prevalence of armored enemies, weapons with high piercing power or explosive capabilities are invaluable.

  • Chris: Shotgun (M3 or Hydra for close-quarters crowd control), Rifle (Dragunov or H&K PSG-1 for long-range precision against armored targets), Grenade Launcher (Flash Rounds for stunning, Explosive Rounds for damage).
  • Sheva: Machine Gun (AK-74 or H&K MP5 for sustained fire), Handgun (M92F or SIG P226 for headshots and conserving ammo), Magnum (S&W M500 or L. Hawk for critical damage against armored foes, but conserve rounds).
  • Items: Stock up on First Aid Sprays, Green Herbs, and at least one Incendiary Grenade. Flash Grenades are excellent for stunning groups of Majini or exposing weak points on armored variants.

Walkthrough:

Initial Deck Engagement
  1. Starting Area: You begin on the stern of the ship. Immediately move forward to the central deck. You'll be met by a large group of standard Majini and several Armored Majini wielding shields and machetes.
  2. Dealing with Armored Majini (Shields): These enemies are heavily resistant to frontal attacks.
    • Strategy 1 (Flanking): Have one player draw their attention while the other flanks them to shoot their exposed backs.
    • Strategy 2 (Melee Combo): Shoot their legs to stun them, then perform a melee attack. This often exposes their back for a follow-up shot from your partner.
    • Strategy 3 (Explosives): A well-placed Grenade or Explosive Round from the Grenade Launcher can bypass their shields entirely.
  3. Container Area: As you push forward, more Majini will emerge from behind containers. Keep an eye out for Archers on raised platforms, who can pin you down with arrow fire. Prioritize taking them out with a rifle.
  4. First Bridge Switch: Your path will lead you to a small control room on the port side (left). Inside, activate the Bridge Switch A. This will extend a bridge connecting to the forward section of the ship.
Mid-Deck Gauntlet & Heavy Majini
  1. Crossing the Bridge: As you cross the newly extended bridge, prepare for a fresh wave of enemies. This is where you'll encounter the more specialized and dangerous armored Majini variants.
  2. Encountering the Gatling Gun Majini: On the starboard side (right) of the ship, a Gatling Gun Majini will emerge from a container. This enemy is incredibly dangerous, capable of rapid, sustained fire that can quickly down either player.
    • Strategy: The Gatling Gun Majini has a small, exposed backpack (its fuel tank) that is its primary weak point. Focus all fire on this area. A few well-placed rifle shots or a single Magnum round can often take it down. Alternatively, use a Flash Grenade to stun it, then rush in for a melee attack or concentrated fire. Keep your distance and use cover.
    • Reward: Defeating the Gatling Gun Majini often drops valuable ammunition or a First Aid Spray.
  3. Rocket Launcher Majini: Shortly after dealing with the Gatling Gun Majini, or sometimes simultaneously, a Rocket Launcher Majini will appear on a raised platform further ahead. Its rockets are slow but deal massive damage.
    • Strategy: Prioritize this threat immediately. Use a rifle to quickly take it down before it can fire. If it does fire, listen for the distinct launch sound and be ready to dodge or take cover. Flash Grenades can also stun it, allowing for an easy kill.
  4. Second Bridge Switch: Continue pushing forward, clearing out any remaining standard Majini and Armored Majini. You'll find the Bridge Switch B in another control room, this time on the starboard side. Activate it to extend the final bridge.
Final Push to the Exit
  1. Crossing the Final Bridge: As you cross the second extended bridge, expect one last surge of enemies, including more Armored Majini and possibly a few standard Majini.
  2. Exit Point: Once the area is clear, proceed to the large double doors at the very front of the ship. Interact with them to end the chapter.

Collectible & Item Locations:

  • Ammunition: Scattered throughout the containers and on enemy drops. Always check crates and barrels.
  • Gold Bars: Often found in breakable crates or hidden in corners. Keep an eye out, especially near the control rooms.
  • Treasures:
    • Emerald (Marquise): In a small crate near the first bridge switch control room.
    • Ruby (Marquise): After defeating the Gatling Gun Majini, check the container it emerged from.
    • Diamond (Brilliant): On the ground near the second bridge switch control room.
  • Green Herbs: Several are found in crates or on the ground, particularly in the more open areas.

Common Pitfalls & Tips:

  • Resource Management: This chapter is a major ammo sink. Use your handgun for standard Majini headshots and conserve powerful rounds for the armored variants and the upcoming boss.
  • Cover is Key: The ship deck offers numerous containers and structures for cover. Utilize them to avoid taking unnecessary damage, especially from the Gatling Gun and Rocket Launcher Majini.
  • Partner AI: Your partner AI can be a lifesaver. Command them to "Cover" when you need to focus on a specific threat, or "Attack" to draw fire. Ensure they have adequate healing items.
  • Upcoming Boss: The next chapter features the Uroboros Aheri boss fight. This boss is highly susceptible to fire. If you have any Incendiary Grenades or Flamethrower fuel (if you brought it from previous chapters), save them. Consider equipping a Grenade Launcher with Incendiary Rounds if available.
  • Melee Opportunities: Don't forget the power of melee attacks. Shooting an enemy's weak point (head for standard Majini, legs for armored) can stun them, allowing for a powerful, ammo-free melee follow-up.
