Achievements / Trophies
Resident Evil 5 features a total of 50 achievements/trophies, offering 1000 Gamerscore or a Platinum Trophy for dedicated players. This comprehensive guide will provide detailed strategies and locations to help you unlock every single one.
Combat-Oriented Achievements
- A Cut Above (15G): Defeat five enemies with the Knife.
- Strategy: This achievement is most easily obtained early in the game, specifically in Chapter 1-1. After the initial cutscene where the horde of Majini spots you, simply swing your Knife through the window at the approaching enemies. Play on the "Amateur" difficulty setting to ensure your knife attacks are more effective and the enemies pose less of a threat. Focus on single targets to ensure the kill count registers.
- A Friend in Need (15G): Save your partner 10 times when "HELP" is displayed.
- Strategy: This achievement is significantly easier to accomplish with a co-op partner, though it can be done with the AI.
- Co-op Method: Both equip at least 5 First Aid Kits each. Play on "Veteran" or "Professional" difficulty. Have one player intentionally take damage from a Majini until they enter the "Dying" state, indicated by the "HELP" prompt appearing above their character. The other player then revives them. Repeat this process 10 times. Ensure your partner is close by on Professional difficulty, as the bleed-out timer is much shorter.
- AI Method (More Challenging): On higher difficulties, let the AI partner get overwhelmed and enter the "Dying" state. Quickly rush to their aid and revive them. This method is less reliable as the AI can sometimes recover on its own or die before you reach them.
- Strategy: This achievement is significantly easier to accomplish with a co-op partner, though it can be done with the AI.
