Inventory Management & Storage
Efficient inventory management is a cornerstone of survival in Resident Evil 5. With limited space, players must make strategic decisions about which weapons, ammunition, and healing items to carry. Understanding how to organize your inventory and utilize storage options effectively can prevent critical shortages at the worst possible moments.
Your character has a finite inventory grid, and each item occupies a certain number of slots. Weapons, especially larger ones like shotguns and sniper rifles, take up sificant space. Ammunition stacks, while efficient, also consume slots. Healing items, such as Green Herbs and First Aid Sprays, are essential and should always be prioritized. When you encounter a Shop, you can purchase upgrades to increase your inventory capacity. Additionally, any items not currently carried are stored and can be accessed at any Shop. This means you don't have to discard valuable items permanently; you can swap them out as needed. Prioritize carrying a balanced loadout: a reliable handgun, a powerful close-range weapon, a long-range option if available, and ample healing supplies. Regularly review your inventory and make adjustments based on the challenges ahead.
| Item Type | Inventory Slot Usage | Importance |
|---|---|---|
| Handgun | 2-3 slots | High (reliable) |
| Shotgun/Rifle | 3-4 slots | High (situational) |
| Magnum | 2 slots | Very High (bosses) |
| Ammo Stack | 1 slot per stack | High (essential) |
| Healing Item | 1 slot | Critical (survival) |
