The game features a robust collection of DLC and expansions that delve deeper into the Baker family's twisted saga, introduce new characters, and challenge your survival skills in unique ways. This section will guide you through each major piece of additional content, providing actionable strategies, item locations, and tips to conquer every new horror.

Banned Footage Vol. 1

This first volume of Banned Footage offers two distinct scenarios and a challenging bonus mode.

Nightmare

In "Nightmare," you play as Clancy Jarvis, trapped in the Baker's basement and forced to survive until dawn against waves of Molded. This mode is all about resource management and strategic defense.

  • Objective: Survive until 5:00 AM.
  • Strategy:
    • Barricades: Prioritize repairing barricades with Scrap. They are your primary defense against the Molded.
    • Crafting: Use the crafting table frequently. Combine Chem Fluid with Gunpowder for Handgun Ammo, or with Solid Fuel for Burner Fuel. The Burner is excellent for crowd control and stunning enemies.
    • Traps: Place Trip Mines strategically in narrow corridors or near barricades to thin out approaching waves.
    • Item Locations:
      • Scrap: Found in various containers, on shelves, and dropped by defeated Molded. Always be on the lookout for more.
      • Gunpowder/Solid Fuel/Chem Fluid: These crafting components are scattered throughout the basement. Check every corner, especially in the storage rooms.
      • Shotgun: Located in a locked cage. You'll need to find the key, often dropped by a specific Molded or found in a hidden spot after a certain wave.
    • Enemy Types: Be aware of different Molded variants. The standard Molded are easily dispatched, but the Fat Molded require more firepower and are best dealt with using the Shotgun or Burner.

Bedroom

As Clancy again, you awaken in a locked bedroom, held captive by Marguerite Baker. This scenario focuses on stealth and puzzle-solving.

  • Objective: Escape the bedroom without alerting Marguerite.
  • Strategy:
    • Stealth is Key: Marguerite will periodically enter the room. Hide under the bed or in the closet when you hear her approaching. put back any moved items to their original positions to avoid suspicion.
    • Puzzle Steps:
      1. Examine the Bed to find a hidden Fork.
      2. Use the Fork to pry open the Painting on the wall, revealing a clue.
      3. Find the Lantern and light it.
      4. Use the Lantern to illuminate the shadow puzzle on the wall, revealing a code for the Clock.
      5. Set the Clock to the correct time to open a secret compartment, revealing the Broken Music Box.
      6. Locate the Music Box Cylinder (often hidden in a drawer or on a shelf) and combine it with the Broken Music Box.
      7. Play the Music Box to attract Marguerite away from the door.
      8. While she's distracted, quickly grab the Snake Key from the table she was guarding.
      9. Use the Snake Key to unlock the door and escape.
    • Item Locations: Most key items are within the bedroom itself, but their exact positions can vary slightly between playthroughs. Always check drawers, under furniture, and on shelves.

Ethan Must Die

This is a brutally difficult, roguelike-inspired mode where you play as Ethan Winters, attempting to escape the Baker estate. Death is permanent, and item placements are randomized.

  • Objective: Reach the end of the Baker estate.
  • Strategy:
    • Randomization: Embrace the unpredictability. Every run will be different in terms of item spawns and enemy placements.
    • Traps: Be extremely wary of trip wires and explosive traps. They are everywhere and can end a run quickly.
    • Melee Focus: Conserve ammo. Melee attacks are often your best option against weaker Molded, especially early on.
    • Item Management: Only pick up what you absolutely need. Inventory space is limited, and you can't store items.
    • Boss Fights: Expect modified versions of main game boss encounters. Learn their patterns and exploit their weaknesses.
    • Trial and Error: This mode is designed for repeated attempts. Learn from each death and adapt your strategy.

Banned Footage Vol. 2

The second volume expands with two more challenging scenarios and a lighthearted bonus game.

21

Clancy is back, forced to play a deadly game of Blackjack against Lucas Baker. This mode tests your luck and strategic thinking.

  • Objective: Win three rounds of Blackjack against Lucas.
  • Strategy:
    • Card Management: You'll be dealt cards and can choose to "Hit" (take another card) or "Stand" (keep your current hand). The goal is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over.
    • Trump Cards: Throughout the game, you'll earn and be able to use "Trump Cards" that have various effects, such as increasing your hand's value, reducing Lucas's, or even forcing him to hit. Use these wisely!
    • Risk vs. Reward: Lucas will introduce increasingly dangerous stakes. Sometimes it's better to lose a round and take minor damage than risk a critical injury for a slim chance at winning.
    • Item Locations: Trump Cards are earned by winning rounds or completing specific objectives within the game.
    • Boss Fights: The "boss fights" are essentially high-stakes rounds of Blackjack with unique rules or conditions. Adapt your strategy to these new challenges.

    • Item Locations: Key items like the Dog Head Relief or specific notes are found in various rooms. Their locations are generally fixed.
    • No Combat: This scenario is primarily narrative and puzzle-based. There's very little, if any, combat. Focus on avoiding detection and solving environmental puzzles.
    • Multiple Endings: Your choices and actions can lead to different outcomes. Experiment to see all possible conclusions.

Jack's 55th Birthday

A comedic, arcade-style mode where you play as Ethan, rushing to feed Jack Baker various dishes before time runs out.

  • Objective: Collect food items and feed Jack before the timer expires.
  • Strategy:
    • Speed is Crucial: This mode is all about efficiency. Learn the fastest routes to food items and back to Jack.
    • Enemy Avoidance: While you can fight Molded, it's often quicker to simply avoid them or stun them with quick attacks to grab food.
    • Item Locations: Food items are scattered throughout the house. Memorize their locations for optimal runs.
    • Power-ups: Look for time bonuses and other helpful power-ups to extend your run and increase your score.
    • Score Chasing: The primary goal is to achieve high scores. Practice routes and item collection to maximize your points.

Not a Hero

This free DLC puts you in the boots of Chris Redfield, pursuing Lucas Baker through a series of mines and facilities after the events of the main game. This expansion brings a more action-oriented experience.

  • Objective: Apprehend Lucas Baker and neutralize the remaining Molded threat.
  • Strategy:
    • Combat Focus: Chris is a trained soldier. You'll have access to more powerful weaponry and a greater emphasis on direct combat.
    • Headshots: Always aim for headshots against Molded to conserve ammo and dispatch them quickly.
    • Flashbangs: These are incredibly useful for stunning groups of Molded, especially the armored variants, allowing you to get critical hits.
    • Night Vision Goggles: Essential for navigating dark areas. Remember to turn them off in well-lit sections to save battery.
    • Item Locations:
      • M19 Handgun: Your starting weapon.
      • Shotgun: Found early on, often in a storage room or armory.
      • Assault Rifle: Acquired later in the facility, providing significant firepower.
      • Grenade Launcher: A powerful weapon for clearing groups of enemies or dealing with tougher Molded.

    • Lucas's Traps: Lucas is still setting traps. Be cautious of tripwires, pressure plates, and explosive devices.
    • Boss Fights: Expect a final confrontation with Lucas that requires quick reflexes and strategic use of your arsenal.

End of Zoe

This final, paid DLC focuses on Joe Baker, Zoe's uncle, a gruff swamp dweller, as he searches for a cure for Zoe. This expansion is unique for its emphasis on brutal hand-to-hand combat.

  • Objective: Find a cure for Zoe and defeat the final, mutated form of the Baker family.
  • Strategy:
    • Fist Fighting: Joe's primary weapon is his fists. Master the timing of punches and blocks.
    • Charged Punch: Hold down the attack button for a powerful charged punch that can stun or knock down tougher enemies.
    • Stealth Kills: Joe can perform stealth takedowns on unsuspecting Molded, saving you health and effort.
    • Spears: Craftable spears are excellent for ranged attacks or for impaling enemies.
    • Gator Gauntlet: A powerful weapon acquired later in the DLC, significantly boosting Joe's melee damage.
    • Item Locations:
      • Supplements: Found throughout the swamp, used to craft healing items or upgrade Joe's abilities.
      • Scrap: Used for crafting spears and other makeshift tools.
      • Healing Items: Often found in hidden caches or by defeating specific enemies.
    • Environmental Hazards: The swamp is full of dangers, including alligators and poisonous plants. Use the environment to your advantage or avoid it.
    • Boss Fights: The final boss encounter is a multi-stage battle that tests all of Joe's combat skills. Focus on dodging, charged punches, and utilizing the Gator Gauntlet.
