Enemy Bestiary

Welcome to the comprehensive Enemy Bestiary for Resident Evil Code: Veronica X! This section details every horrifying creature you'll encounter, providing crucial strategies, weapon recommendations, and item drop information to help you survive Rockfort Island and beyond. Knowledge is your greatest weapon against the Umbrella Corporation's abominations.

Zombies

The most common enemy, but never to be underestimated. Zombies are slow but relentless, and their bites can quickly drain your health.

  • Locations: Found throughout Rockfort Island, Antarctic Base, and the Umbrella Facility.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Handgun is effective for headshots. Aim for the head, wait for them to stumble, then fire again. Conserve Shotgun Shells for groups or more dangerous foes.
    • Chris: The Combat Knife can be used to conserve ammo if you're skilled at dodging. Otherwise, the Handgun (M93R) is your primary tool.
    • Groups: If facing multiple zombies, try to funnel them into a narrow corridor to pick them off one by one. The Shotgun is excellent for clearing groups in wider areas.
  • Drops: Occasionally drop Handgun Bullets.

Cerberus (Zombie Dogs)

These infected canines are fast and agile, making them a nuisance in tight spaces. They often attack in packs.

  • Locations: Primarily encountered on Rockfort Island, especially in outdoor areas and the military training facility.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Bow Gun with explosive arrows is highly effective, often taking them down in one shot. If using the Handgun, aim low as they tend to lunge.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is your best bet for quick disposal. Try to hit multiple dogs with a single blast if they're grouped.
    • Evasion: If ammo is scarce, try to run past them. Their attack animation can be dodged with good timing.
  • Drops: Rarely drop Handgun Bullets or Bow Gun Arrows.

Hunters

Fast, aggressive, and capable of instantly killing you with their "Head Slice" attack if your health is in the "Caution" or "Danger" status. These creatures are a significant threat.

  • Locations: First appear on Rockfort Island after the initial bombing, and later in the Antarctic Base.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Shotgun is highly recommended. Two well-placed shots will usually dispatch them. The Grenade Launcher with Flame Rounds or Acid Rounds is also very effective.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is essential. Aim for their chest or head. The Magnum is a one-shot kill, but conserve its precious ammo for bosses.
    • Evasion: If you must run, try to keep distance and use corners to your advantage. Do NOT engage if your health is low.
  • Drops: Occasionally drop Shotgun Shells or Grenade Rounds.

Bandersnatches

These grotesque creatures possess an elongated, powerful arm capable of striking from a distance. They are surprisingly durable.

  • Locations: Exclusive to Rockfort Island, often found in the palace and military training areas.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Grenade Launcher with Acid Rounds is devastating against them, often taking them down in one or two hits. The Shotgun is also effective, but requires more shots. Aim for the torso.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is your primary weapon here. Try to get close to minimize their arm's reach, then blast them. The Magnum will one-shot them, but again, save it.
    • Weak Point: Their weak point is their head, but it's difficult to hit consistently due to their erratic movements.
  • Drops: Rarely drop Grenade Rounds or Shotgun Shells.

Sweepers

A variant of the Hunter, these creatures are distinguished by their venomous claws, which can poison you. They are even more dangerous than standard Hunters.

  • Locations: Found in the later sections of Rockfort Island and the Antarctic Base.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: Prioritize these over other enemies due to their poison. The Grenade Launcher with Flame or Acid Rounds is ideal. If using the Shotgun, be prepared to use a Blue Herb or Mixed Herb (Green + Blue) immediately after the fight if you get poisoned.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is effective, but be swift. The Magnum will instantly kill them. Always have a Blue Herb on hand when encountering these.
    • Prevention: Try to kill them before they can get close enough to strike. Maintaining distance is key.
  • Drops: Occasionally drop Shotgun Shells or Grenade Rounds.

Moth

Giant moths that infest certain areas, primarily the prison. They are more annoying than dangerous individually, but can be a nuisance in groups or when combined with other enemies.

  • Locations: Prison area on Rockfort Island.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Handgun is sufficient. Aim for their body. They are slow and predictable.
    • Chris: The Handgun (M93R) works fine. You can often run past them without taking damage.
    • Avoidance: If you're low on ammo, simply run past them. They are not worth expending valuable resources on unless they block your path.
  • Drops: None.

Giant Spiders

Large arachnids that can spit venom, inflicting poison. They are slow but have a wide attack range.

  • Locations: Found in various dark, damp areas, including the sewers of Rockfort Island and the Antarctic Base.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Shotgun is effective. Aim for the body. The Bow Gun with explosive arrows can also be good for a quick kill.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is your best option. Try to keep your distance to avoid their venomous spray.
    • Poison: If poisoned, use a Blue Herb or Mixed Herb (Green + Blue) immediately.
  • Drops: Rarely drop Handgun Bullets.

Albinoid

Amphibious creatures that are incredibly fast in water and can deliver an electric shock. They are highly dangerous in their aquatic environment.

  • Locations: The underwater research facility in the Antarctic Base.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Bow Gun with explosive arrows is your most reliable weapon against them. Aim for their body.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is effective, but you need to be quick. The Magnum will take them down in one hit.
    • Water Combat: Fighting them in water is extremely risky. Try to lure them out or engage them from a safe distance if possible. Their electric shock can stun and damage you significantly.
  • Drops: None.

Tentacles (Gulp Worm)

These massive tentacles emerge from the ground, attempting to crush or swallow you. They are stationary but have a wide attack radius.

  • Locations: Primarily in the underground areas of Rockfort Island, particularly the Gulp Worm's lair.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Grenade Launcher with Flame Rounds or Acid Rounds is highly effective. Aim for the base of the tentacles.
    • Chris: The Shotgun can work, but the Magnum is ideal for quickly destroying them.
    • Evasion: Their attack patterns are somewhat predictable. Watch for the ground to shake before they emerge and move out of the way.
  • Drops: None.

Black Widow

Giant spiders that are larger and more resilient than their smaller counterparts. They can also inflict poison.

  • Locations: Found in specific, isolated areas, such as the spider-infested room in the Antarctic Base.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire: The Grenade Launcher with Flame Rounds is devastating. The Shotgun will also work, but requires more shots.
    • Chris: The Shotgun is your primary weapon. The Magnum will make short work of them.
    • Poison: As with smaller spiders, have a Blue Herb ready.
  • Drops: None.

Tyrant (T-103)

A powerful bio-organic weapon, relentless and incredibly strong. You'll face multiple encounters with this foe.

  • Locations: First encountered on Rockfort Island, then again on the cargo plane, and finally in the Antarctic Base.
  • Strategy:
    • Rockfort Island (Claire):
      • First Encounter: In the military training facility. Use the Grenade Launcher with Acid Rounds. Aim for the chest. Keep moving to avoid his powerful punches.
      • Cargo Plane: This is a timed fight. You need to activate the catapult. Shoot him until he's stunned, then quickly run to the catapult controls. The Grenade Launcher with Flame Rounds is excellent here.
    • Antarctic Base (Chris):
      • Final Encounter: He's much faster and more aggressive. The Magnum is your best friend. Aim for the chest. Use the environment to your advantage, kiting him around obstacles. Be prepared to use multiple First Aid Sprays.
  • Drops: None.

Nosferatu

A mutated creature with powerful, whip-like tentacles and a vulnerable core. You'll face this boss as both Claire and Chris.

  • Locations: Claire fights him on the helipad of the Antarctic Base. Chris faces him in the underground research facility.
  • Strategy:
    • Claire:
      • Weapon: The Sniper Rifle is absolutely crucial here.
      • Weak Point: His exposed heart on his back.
      • Tactics: Keep your distance. When he exposes his back, quickly aim with the Sniper Rifle and fire. It takes several precise shots to defeat him. Avoid his tentacle attacks, which can knock you off the helipad.
    • Chris:
      • Weapon: The Magnum is highly effective.
      • Weak Point: Same as Claire, his exposed heart.
      • Tactics: This fight is in a more confined space. Use the Magnum to hit his heart when exposed. Be wary of his sweeping tentacle attacks.
  • Drops: None.

Alexia Ashford (Mutated Forms)

The final boss, Alexia transforms into multiple terrifying forms, each requiring different strategies.

  • Locations: Antarctic Base, final confrontation.
  • Strategy:
    • First Form (Humanoid):
      • Claire: Use the Grenade Launcher with Flame Rounds. She's vulnerable to fire. Keep your distance and dodge her fire attacks.
      • Chris: Use the Shotgun or Magnum. The Magnum will deal significant damage.
    • Second Form (Plant-like):
      • Chris: This form is stationary but attacks with tentacles and acid. Use the Magnum to target her main body. The Shotgun can also be effective if you're close enough. Conserve your most powerful ammo for the final phase.
    • Third Form (Flying Insect):
      • Chris: This is the final phase. You'll need to activate the Linear Launcher. While it charges, use the Magnum to damage her. Once the Linear Launcher is ready, fire it to end the fight. This weapon is a one-shot kill.
  • Drops: None.
