Claire's Rockfort Island Puzzles

The Gold Medallion Replica

This early puzzle is crucial for progressing past the initial prison area.

• Objective: Obtain a replica of the Gold Medallion to open the large gates.
• Steps:
  1. After the cutscene involving Steve, enter the room where he was looking at a desk. On the desk, you'll find the Gold Medallion. Pick it up.
  2. Flip the switch Steve was examining on the desk. This activates the 3D scanner.
  3. Head back to the previous room (the one with the 3D scanner) and place the Gold Medallion onto the scanner.
  4. Exit the building. Outside, near the flaming car where you first started, there's a switch. Flip it to release the Fire Extinguisher.
  5. Use the Fire Extinguisher on the flaming car. Once the flames are out, you can access the Suitcase.
  6. Examine the Suitcase in your inventory to find the TG-01 item.
  7. Return to the 3D scanner room and place the TG-01 onto the scanner. This will create the Replica Medallion.
  8. Take the Replica Medallion to the large gates where you first encountered Steve and use it to proceed.

Helping Steve in the Computer Room

Steve gets himself into a bind early on, and it's up to Claire to get him out.

• Objective: Unlock the door to free Steve from the computer room.
• Steps:
  1. Once you reach the computer console where Steve is trapped, interact with it.
  2. You'll be presented with an interface showing various weapon schematics. To unlock the door, you need to select the correct two guns.
  3. The correct combination is C and E. Select these two options on the computer screen.
  4. The door will now unlock, freeing Steve.

The Two Shields and the Guillotine

This puzzle is necessary to access new areas within the military training facility.

• Objective: Place two shields on the guillotine mechanism to activate it.
• Steps:
  1. First Shield: After the cutscene where Steve tragically kills his zombified father, you'll find yourself in a room containing a model of the military base and a picture on the wall. The First Shield is located in this room. Pick it up.
  2. Proceed to the area with the guillotine. Use the First Shield on the designated slot.
  3. Second Shield: The Second Shield is found later in the game. It is located in the Private Residence, specifically in the room with the large globe. You'll need to solve another small puzzle to access it:
     • In the Private Residence, locate the room with the globe.
     • Examine the globe to find a hidden mechanism.
     • Rotate the globe until the correct continent (Antarctica) is highlighted. This will reveal a hidden compartment containing the Second Shield.
  4. Return to the guillotine and place the Second Shield into the remaining slot.
  5. Once both shields are in place, the guillotine will activate, allowing you to proceed.
