This boss fight is divided into three distinct phases, each requiring a different approach and weapon strategy. Prepare thoroughly before initiating this encounter, as there's no turning back once it begins.
Phase 1: Ground Form
- Location: The Antarctic Base, within the main laboratory area after activating the self-destruct sequence.
- Strategy: Alexia will be in a relatively humanoid, yet monstrous, form. Her primary attacks include fire-based projectiles and sweeping melee attacks.
- Recommended Weapons:
- Grenade Launcher (Flame Rounds): Highly effective for consistent damage. Aim for her upper body.
- Magnum: Use for critical hits when she's momentarily stunned or recovering from an attack.
- Shotgun: Good for close-range damage if you're confident in dodging her attacks.
- Tactics: Maintain distance and continuously strafe to avoid her fire attacks. Fire a few rounds, then reposition. Don't get cornered.
Phase 2: Flying Form
- Location: The same laboratory area, immediately following Phase 1.
- Strategy: Alexia transforms into a large, insect-like creature that flies around the arena. She will drop explosive sacs and occasionally dive-bomb.
- Recommended Weapons:
- Assault Rifle: The rapid-fire capability is excellent for tracking her in the air and dealing continuous damage.
- Bow Gun (Explosive Arrows): If you have a good supply, these can deal significant damage, especially if you can land direct hits.
- Grenade Launcher (Explosive Rounds): Can be effective if you can predict her flight path.
- Tactics: Keep moving to avoid her attacks. Focus fire on her main body. When she pauses or hovers, unleash your most powerful attacks. Be mindful of the explosive sacs she drops and shoot them from a distance if they pose a threat.
Phase 3: Core Form and Linear Launcher
- Location: The final platform at the top of the laboratory, accessible after defeating Phase 2.
- Strategy: Alexia transforms into a gigantic, stationary plant-like core. She will continuously spawn tentacles and occasionally fire a powerful laser beam. Chris will automatically pick up the Linear Launcher for this phase.
- Recommended Weapons:
- Linear Launcher: This is your primary and only effective weapon for this phase. It's a powerful, charge-up weapon designed specifically for this encounter.
- Healing Items: Keep a good stock of First Aid Sprays and Healing Herbs (Mixed), as the tentacles can quickly chip away at your health.
- Tactics:
- Immediately equip the Linear Launcher.
- Charge the weapon fully before firing. A fully charged shot is crucial for maximizing damage.
- Aim directly at Alexia's central core.
- While charging, continuously move to avoid the tentacles that spawn. They are a nuisance but can quickly overwhelm you if you stand still.
- After each shot, immediately begin charging the next. The fight is a race against time before the self-destruct sequence completes.
- If you get hit, use healing items strategically. Don't let your health drop too low.
The Escape
