Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City features several competitive multiplayer modes that offer a different experience from the campaign and provide additional ways to earn XP and Credits for your characters. These modes often pit USS against Spec Ops, with infected acting as environmental hazards.

- Team Attack: Standard team deathmatch. Eliminate the opposing team to score points.
- Biohazard: Collect G-Virus samples scattered across the map and return them to your base. Opposing teams will try to steal your samples.
- Survivors: A last-man-standing mode where teams compete to be the last ones alive, often with a limited number of respawns.
- Heroes: Play as iconic Resident Evil characters (Leon, Jill, Hunk, etc.) in a team deathmatch scenario.
Playing multiplayer is an excellent way to level up your characters, earn Credits for weapon upgrades, and practice your combat skills against human opponents. Winning matches and performing well (high kill counts, objective completion) yields greater rewards. Many achievements/trophies are tied to multiplayer progression.
