Location: RPD (Mission 2: Corruption), The Hive (Mission 5: The Hive), Mission 7: End of the Line (multiple encounters)
The Tyrant, or Mr. X, is a relentless, heavily armored BOW. While not always a 'boss' in the traditional sense (sometimes you just need to escape), he becomes a direct combat encounter in later missions.
- Phases: One primary phase, but his behavior changes based on damage.
- Attacks:
- Powerful Punch: A devastating melee attack that can knock down and heavily damage a single target.
- Stomp: A slower, area-of-effect stomp.
- Charge: Charges forward, grabbing and crushing a target if successful.
- Weakness: His head is the primary weak point, especially when his hat is knocked off. Explosives can also stun him.
- Strategy:
- Headshots: Focus all fire on his head. Once his hat is off, his exposed brain is even more vulnerable.
- Stun & Run/Damage: Use grenades (Flash or Stun) or Beltway's Satchel Charge to temporarily stun him. This creates an opening for concentrated fire or allows your team to reposition.
- Kiting: Keep moving. Tyrants are slow but relentless. Don't let him corner you.
- Teamwork: Have one player draw his attention while others flank and shoot his head.
- Character Abilities:
- Lupo (Super Soldier): Use to quickly burst down his health during a stun.
- Spectre (Threat Detector): Mark him to ensure all shots are amplified.
- Vector (Mimicry): Use to escape if he corners you or to reposition for flanking shots.
Tyrants are damage sponges. Patience and consistent headshots are key. Don't waste ammo on his armored body. If you can't kill him, focus on stunning him to escape.
