Boss Attack Patterns

Conquering the horrors of Raccoon City often comes down to understanding your enemy. This section details the attack patterns of key bosses you'll encounter in Resident Evil Outbreak, along with strategies and item recommendations to ensure your survival.

Eliminator (Outbreak Scenario)

The Eliminator, a mutated ape, is a fast and aggressive foe. Its attacks are primarily melee-based, but it can close distances rapidly.

  • Charge Attack: The Eliminator will crouch briefly, then charge directly at a player, attempting to tackle them. This attack deals significant damage and can knock you down.
  • Swipe Combo: When in close proximity, it will deliver a series of quick, powerful swipes with its claws. These can be difficult to avoid if you're cornered.
  • Leap Attack: If you create distance, the Eliminator may leap across the room to close the gap, often landing with a damaging slam.

Strategy:

Maintain distance whenever possible. The Shotgun is highly effective against the Eliminator due to its wide spread and stopping power. Aim for headshots for critical damage. If playing as Kevin, his .45 Automatic is also a solid choice. use the environment to your advantage; kiting the Eliminator around obstacles can buy you precious time to reload or heal. Keep a Green Herb or First Aid Spray ready in your inventory, as its attacks can quickly deplete your health.

G-Mutant (Below Freezing Point Scenario)

The G-Mutant, a grotesque creature born from the G-Virus, presents a unique challenge with its ranged and melee capabilities.

  • Tentacle Lash: The G-Mutant will extend a long, whip-like tentacle to strike players from a moderate distance. This attack can be surprisingly fast.
  • Acid Spit: It will occasionally spit corrosive acid in an arc. This attack can cover a small area and inflict continuous damage if you stand in it.
  • Body Slam: If you get too close, the G-Mutant will attempt to crush you with its massive body, dealing heavy damage and potentially knocking you down.
  • Regeneration (Phase 2): After taking significant damage, the G-Mutant may retreat to a pool of fluid to regenerate. During this phase, it is invulnerable to direct attacks.

Strategy:

The G-Mutant is vulnerable to fire. If you have access to the Flame Rounds for the Grenade Launcher (found in the B4F Research Lab), they are incredibly effective. Otherwise, the Assault Rifle or Magnum are your best bets. During its regeneration phase, focus on avoiding its tentacle and acid attacks. This is a good time to reload or use a Blue Herb to cure poison if you've been hit by acid. After it emerges from the fluid, it will be temporarily stunned, providing an excellent window for concentrated fire.

Tyrant R (The Hive Scenario)

The Tyrant R, a more advanced and aggressive Tyrant model, is a relentless pursuer with devastating melee attacks.

  • Claw Swipe: The Tyrant will perform powerful, sweeping claw attacks when in close range. These have a wide arc and can hit multiple players.
  • Charge Punch: It will wind up and deliver a powerful punch that can send players flying across the room, causing massive damage.
  • Stomp: If you're knocked down, the Tyrant may follow up with a crushing stomp.
  • Running Tackle: The Tyrant can sprint surprisingly fast, attempting to tackle players from a distance.

Strategy:

Speed and evasion are paramount against the Tyrant R. The Magnum is the most efficient weapon, but the Shotgun can also stun it temporarily. Focus fire on its head, which is its primary weak point. If playing in a team, coordinate your attacks and have one player distract the Tyrant while others attack. The Dodge mechanic (if your character has it) is invaluable for avoiding its powerful attacks. Ensure you have multiple First Aid Sprays or Mixed Herbs (G+G+G) as its damage output is extremely high. The small, confined spaces in The Hive make this fight particularly challenging, so spatial awareness is key.
