In the chilling depths of the Umbrella Research Facility, specifically within the "Below Freezing Point" scenario, one of your primary and most critical objectives is to restore power. Without it, vital areas remain inaccessible, and progress grinds to a halt. This guide will walk you through the precise steps, enemy encounters, and item locations necessary to bring the facility back online.

Objective Overview

The facility's power has been deliberately cut, likely by Monica, to hinder your progress. Your task is to locate and connect three specific Power Cables to their corresponding terminals in the Power Room. This is not a simple fetch quest; you'll face unique mutated threats and navigate treacherous, dark corridors.

Phase 1: Navigating to the Power Room

Upon starting "Below Freezing Point," you'll find yourself in the B1F Research Lab. Your immediate goal is to reach the B2F Power Room.

• Starting Location: B1F Research Lab.
• Initial Enemies: Several standard zombies (researchers) will be present. Conserve ammunition where possible by dodging or using melee attacks if playing as a character with strong melee (e.g., Kevin, Mark).
• Path: From the Research Lab, head through the door leading to the B1F Corridor. Follow this corridor, taking the stairs down to the B2F Corridor. Be wary of additional zombies here.
• Key Item (Optional but Recommended): In the B1F Research Lab, check the lockers for a Handgun Ammo box or a Green Herb.

Phase 2: Locating the Power Cables

There are three Power Cables, each located in a different section of the facility. These are not generic items; they are specific, unique components required for power restoration. Each cable is guarded by a mutated creature, making their retrieval a significant challenge.

Power Cable 1: The Licker's Lair

• Location: B2F Storage Room.
• Path: From the B2F Corridor, take the door leading to the B2F Storage Room. This room is dark and cramped.
• Enemy: A single, highly aggressive Licker. This Licker is often positioned to ambush you as you enter or approach the cable.
• Strategy:
  • Recommended Weapon: Shotgun or Magnum. Handguns are less effective due to the Licker's speed and resilience.
  • Tactics: Lickers are blind but have excellent hearing. Move slowly and quietly until you are ready to engage. If you make noise, it will pinpoint your location and attack relentlessly. Aim for its exposed brain. A few well-placed shotgun blasts will dispatch it.
  • Alternative: If playing with a character like Cindy, use a "Playing Dead" dodge to get past it and grab the cable, then escape.
• Item: After defeating the Licker, the Power Cable A will be clearly visible on a shelf or crate.

Power Cable 2: The Hunter's Domain

• Location: B3F Laboratory.
• Path: From the B2F Corridor, continue further down to the B3F Corridor. Navigate through this corridor, which may contain more zombies, until you reach the door to the B3F Laboratory.
• Enemy: A Hunter Gamma. This variant of the Hunter is faster and more agile than its standard counterpart, and its attacks can inflict significant damage.
• Strategy:
  • Recommended Weapon: Shotgun or Grenade Launcher (Flame Rounds are particularly effective).
  • Tactics: Hunters are quick and can leap great distances. Maintain distance if possible. If it gets close, try to stun it with a powerful shot before it can attack. Aim for the head or chest. Be prepared to use a healing item immediately after taking a hit.
  • Environmental Advantage: The lab has some obstacles you can use to create temporary barriers, but don't rely on them for long.
• Item: Once the Hunter Gamma is neutralized, the Power Cable B will be found on a workbench or near some scientific equipment.

Power Cable 3: The Drain Deimos' Nest

• Location: B4F Waste Disposal.
• Path: This is the deepest and most dangerous cable. From the B3F Corridor, find the access point to the B4F Waste Disposal area. This path is often dark and winding.
• Enemy: Multiple Drain Deimos. These insect-like creatures are fast, can cling to walls and ceilings, and attack in swarms. Their primary attack is a draining bite that can quickly reduce your health.
• Strategy:
  • Recommended Weapon: Submachine Gun (if available), Handgun with plenty of ammo, or Shotgun for crowd control.
  • Tactics: The key here is crowd control. Do not let them surround you. Use wide-arc attacks with a Shotgun or rapid fire from an SMG to clear groups. If using a handgun, prioritize the closest threats and try to keep moving to avoid being overwhelmed.
  • Environmental Hazard: The Waste Disposal area often has corrosive puddles or steam vents. Avoid these as they can cause damage or slow you down.
• Item: After clearing the immediate threat, the final Power Cable C will be located near a large pipe or machinery.

Phase 3: Restoring Power in the Power Room

Once you have all three Power Cables (A, B, and C) in your inventory, return to the B2F Power Room.

• Path: Retrace your steps back up to B2F. Be aware that some enemies may have respawned or new ones may have appeared.
• Power Room Interaction: Inside the Power Room, you will find three distinct terminals, each clearly labeled for a specific Power Cable.
• Action: Approach each terminal and use the corresponding Power Cable from your inventory. The game will prompt you to connect it.
• Sequence: The order in which you connect the cables does not matter.
• Confirmation: After all three cables are connected, a short cutscene will play, showing the facility lights flickering back on. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that power has been restored.

Rewards and Consequences

Restoring power has several immediate and long-term benefits:

• Accessibility: Numerous previously locked doors and areas will now be accessible, allowing you to progress deeper into the facility. This includes the main elevator and certain research labs.
• Visibility: The entire facility will be much brighter, making navigation easier and reducing the chance of being ambushed by enemies in the dark.
• New Objectives: Restoring power often triggers the next phase of the scenario, such as activating the main elevator or gaining access to key research data.
• New Threats: While power is restored, be prepared for new enemy spawns in previously cleared areas, as the facility's systems may have reactivated dormant threats.

Recommended Loadout and Item Management

• Weapons: Prioritize a powerful weapon like the Shotgun or Magnum for the Licker and Hunter. A Handgun with ample ammo is good for standard zombies and Drain Deimos.
• Healing Items: Always carry at least two healing items (Green Herbs, Mixed Herbs, First Aid Spray). The encounters for the Power Cables can be brutal.
• Inventory Space: The Power Cables take up three inventory slots. Plan your inventory carefully before embarking on this quest. You may need to temporarily drop less critical items or rely on your teammates to carry extra supplies.
• Teamwork (Multiplayer): If playing with others, coordinate who will retrieve which cable. A strong combat character can handle the Licker and Hunter, while another can focus on the Drain Deimos. Share healing items and ammo.
