Navigate the Burning University

Welcome to the Raccoon University, a once prestigious institution now engulfed in a fiery nightmare. This section will guide you through the inferno, helping you extinguish flames, evade mutated horrors, and uncover the secrets hidden within its burning halls. Prepare for a challenging journey where every step counts.

Initial Objectives & Immediate Threats

Upon starting the scenario, you'll find yourself in the Main Hallway (1F). The university is already ablaze, and smoke fills the air. Your immediate concerns are:

  • Locate Fire Extinguishers: Essential for clearing burning debris and opening new paths.
  • Find the University Map: Crucial for effective navigation through the labyrinthine campus.
  • Manage Health: Smoke inhalation and direct contact with fire will rapidly deplete your health. Keep an eye on your character's status.
  • Evade Enemies: Standard zombies are present, but be wary of more dangerous, fire-resistant mutated creatures.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough: Extinguishing the Path

1. Main Hallway (1F) to East Wing
  • Starting Point: You begin in the Main Hallway (1F). Immediately to your left, you'll see a burning barricade.
  • First Fire Extinguisher: Head straight down the Main Hallway. On the right side, just before the double doors leading to the Cafeteria, you'll find a Fire Extinguisher mounted on the wall. Grab it.
  • Clear the Path: Return to the burning barricade near your starting point. Use the Fire Extinguisher to douse the flames, opening the path to the East Wing Corridor (1F).
  • Enemy Encounter: Expect a few standard zombies in the East Wing Corridor. Deal with them quickly to conserve health and resources.
2. Securing the University Map
  • East Wing Corridor (1F) Exploration: Proceed through the East Wing Corridor. You'll encounter a locked door to the Library and another leading to the Faculty Lounge.
  • Faculty Lounge (1F): Enter the Faculty Lounge. Inside, you'll find a few items, including a Green Herb and potentially some handgun ammo.
  • The University Map: The University Map is located on a bulletin board or desk within the Faculty Lounge (1F). pick it up; it's invaluable for understanding the campus layout.
3. Navigating to the West Wing & Science Lab

The burning university presents numerous environmental hazards. Use fire extinguishers wisely.
  • Return to Main Hallway (1F): Head back to the Main Hallway. You'll now want to access the West Wing.
  • West Wing Access: The entrance to the West Wing Corridor (1F) is on the opposite side of the Main Hallway from the East Wing. It might also be partially blocked by flames, requiring another Fire Extinguisher.
  • Second Fire Extinguisher (Optional/Backup): If you need another Fire Extinguisher, one can often be found in the Cafeteria (1F), accessible from the Main Hallway. However, this area can be swarming with zombies.
  • Science Lab (1F): Your next key destination is the Science Lab (1F), located within the West Wing. Navigate the corridor, dealing with any zombie threats.
  • Puzzle - Lab Access: The Science Lab door might require a specific keycard or a simple puzzle solution (e.g., a numerical keypad code found on a nearby memo). Check any notes or documents found in the West Wing offices.

Enemy Encounters & Strategies

  • Standard Zombies: Your most common foe. Aim for headshots to conserve ammo. If playing as Kevin, his .45 Auto is excellent for quick kills.
  • Mutated Zombies: These are tougher, often appearing in areas with higher temperatures. They can take more damage and sometimes have unique attack patterns. Prioritize them with stronger weapons like the Shotgun.
  • Lickers: Fast, agile, and deadly. They are often found on ceilings or walls. Listen for their distinctive clicking sounds. A well-placed shotgun blast or multiple handgun shots can take them down. Running past them is often a viable strategy if you're low on health or ammo.
  • Giant Moth (Library Boss): This creature is a significant threat. It flies erratically and can inflict poison. Use the environment to your advantage, hiding behind bookshelves. Shotguns and explosive rounds are highly effective. Aim for its body when it lands or hovers.

Common Pitfalls & Missables

  • Running out of Fire Extinguishers: There are a limited number. Use them strategically only when absolutely necessary to clear a path. Some fires will burn out over time, but critical paths often require immediate dousing.
  • Ignoring the Map: Without the University Map, you'll waste precious time and health wandering through burning corridors. Prioritize finding it early.
  • Smoke Inhalation: Prolonged exposure to smoke will slowly drain your health. If your character starts coughing, try to move to a clearer area. Use Blue Herbs or First Aid Sprays if your health drops too low.
  • Missing Key Items: Several key items, like specific keys or memos, are crucial for progression. Always thoroughly search each room before moving on. Check desks, shelves, and bulletin boards.
  • Underestimating Environmental Hazards: Beyond fire and smoke, collapsing ceilings or exploding pipes can also cause damage. Pay attention to audio cues and visual warnings.

Recommended Loadouts & Character Synergies

  • Kevin Ryman: His .45 Auto is excellent for dealing with standard zombies. His personal item, the Handgun, is powerful.
  • Mark Wilkins: His high defense and ability to use heavy weapons (like the Shotgun or Grenade Launcher if found) make him a good choice for confronting tougher enemies.
  • Cindy Lennox: Her ability to carry more healing items (via her personal item, the Herb Case) is invaluable for surviving the burning environment.
  • George Hamilton: His Medical Kit allows him to create powerful healing items. Combine with Cindy for maximum healing potential.
  • Alyssa Ashcroft: Her lockpicking skills can open certain doors faster, saving time and potentially bypassing minor puzzles.

Remember to communicate with your AI partners or human teammates. Sharing items, especially healing supplies and powerful weapons, is key to surviving the Raccoon University inferno.
