Episode 9: No Exit

This episode throws you into the deep end with Jill and Parker, facing off against a new, formidable enemy type. Resource management and strategic movement are key to survival here.

Deck - Promenade

The episode begins with Jill and Parker on the Promenade. Your immediate goal is to reach the Grand Hall. Be prepared for a new enemy: the Scagdead. This grotesque creature is heavily armored and deals significant damage. Focus your fire on the exposed head, especially when it opens its mouth to attack. Grenades and powerful weapons like the Shotgun or Rifle are highly effective.

  • Proceed through the Promenade. You'll encounter a Scagdead shortly after starting. Utilize the environment to your advantage, creating distance and aiming for its weak point.
  • After defeating the first Scagdead, continue forward. You'll find a Green Herb on a bench to your left.
  • As you approach the double doors leading to the Grand Hall, another Scagdead will burst through. Be ready for this ambush.
  • Once both Scagdead are down, enter the Grand Hall.

Grand Hall

The Grand Hall is a familiar area, but now it's crawling with Ooze and potentially more Scagdead depending on your difficulty. Your objective is to activate the elevator.

  • Upon entering, you'll likely face a few Ooze. Clear them out to give yourself space.
  • Head towards the elevator in the center of the hall. Interact with the panel to attempt activation. It won't work immediately.
  • Parker will suggest checking the power. This means heading to the Engine Room.
  • Before leaving, explore the Grand Hall for supplies:
    • On the lower level, near the fountain, you can find Handgun Ammo and a Green Herb.
    • Check the various display cases and benches for additional ammo.
  • Proceed through the doors leading to the Cafeteria.

Cafeteria & Kitchen

These areas are relatively straightforward but can be tight, making combat tricky.

  • Cafeteria: Expect a few Ooze here. Clear them out. You can find some Shotgun Shells on a table.
  • Kitchen: More Ooze await. Be mindful of the narrow passages. There's a Green Herb on a counter and potentially some Machine Gun Ammo in a locker.
  • Exit the Kitchen into the next corridor, leading towards the Crew Quarters.

Crew Quarters & Engine Room Access

This section involves navigating through familiar crew areas to reach the Engine Room.

  • Corridor: You'll encounter a few Ooze as you make your way through.
  • Crew Quarters (Lower Level): This area can have a few Ooze. Look for a Weapon Box in one of the rooms if you need to switch out gear. There's also a Grenade on a bunk.
  • Continue through the crew quarters until you reach the door leading to the Engine Room access corridor.

Engine Room

The Engine Room is where you'll restore power to the elevator. Be prepared for a significant encounter.

  • As you enter the Engine Room, you'll immediately be confronted by a Scagdead. This fight can be challenging due to the confined space. Try to lure it into more open areas if possible, or use explosives to stun it.
  • After defeating the Scagdead, locate the power console. It's usually on a raised platform or central console. Interact with it to restore power.
  • Once power is restored, backtrack through the Crew Quarters, Kitchen, and Cafeteria to the Grand Hall. Be aware that new Ooze or even another Scagdead might have spawned in previously cleared areas.

Grand Hall - Elevator Activation

With power restored, head back to the elevator.

  • Upon returning to the Grand Hall, you might encounter more Ooze.
  • Go to the elevator and activate it.
  • Ride the elevator up to the next floor to continue the episode.
