The Malacoda is a massive, tentacled B.O.W. that attacks the Queen Zenobia. This is a unique boss fight that takes place on the ship's deck.
Attack Patterns:
- Tentacle Slam: Slams its massive tentacles onto the deck.
- Acid Spit: Spits corrosive acid from its mouth.
- Ooze Spawns: Spawns regular Ooze to distract you.
Weak Points & Strategy:
- Weak Point: The glowing red orbs at the base of its tentacles and its exposed mouth.
- Strategy: This fight is about targeting specific weak points. When the Malacoda slams its tentacles, aim for the glowing red orbs at their base. Use your most powerful weapons (Rifle, Magnum) for this. After damaging the tentacles enough, its mouth will open, revealing another weak point. Unload all your remaining powerful ammo into its mouth. Be mindful of the Ooze it spawns; clear them quickly with a shotgun or machine gun so they don't overwhelm you. Use the environment for cover from its acid spit.
The Malacoda fight is a test of target prioritization and ammo management. Focus on the tentacles first, then its mouth. Don't get caught by its tentacle slams, as they deal massive damage.
