Mission 2-1: Mine

Welcome to Mission 2-1, set deep within the treacherous Mine. This stage introduces new enemy types and environmental hazards, demanding careful movement and precise shooting. Your primary objective is to eliminate all targets within the time limit. Let's dive in!

Recommended Character & Loadout

  • Character: Chris Redfield is an excellent choice for this mission due to his balanced stats and powerful handguns. His ability to quickly dispatch enemies with headshots will be invaluable.
  • Weapons: Prioritize a strong handgun (like the M93R) for general enemy clearing and a shotgun (like the M3) for crowd control and dealing with armored foes. A rifle can be useful for picking off distant targets, but close-quarters combat will be more frequent.

Phase 1: Initial Descent and First Encounter

  1. Starting Area: You begin at the top of a winding mine shaft. Immediately look for a Green Herb on a crate to your left. Grab it for emergency healing.
  2. First Enemies: As you descend the initial ramp, you'll encounter several standard Majini. Aim for headshots to conserve ammo and trigger critical kills for bonus time.
  3. Barrel Trap: Notice the red explosive barrels strategically placed throughout the mine. Shoot them when enemies are nearby to clear groups efficiently. There's one shortly after the first group of Majini.
  4. Item Pickup: Before entering the first open cavern, check the alcove to your right for Handgun Ammo and potentially a Bonus Time pickup.

Phase 2: The Main Cavern and Armored Foes

  1. Entering the Cavern: This large, open area will be your first major engagement. Expect multiple waves of Majini and the introduction of Armored Majini.
  2. Dealing with Armored Majini: These enemies are heavily resistant to body shots. Focus your fire on their exposed heads. A well-placed shotgun blast to the face can stagger them, allowing for follow-up headshots. Alternatively, if you have a powerful handgun, repeated headshots will eventually break their helmets.
  3. Elevated Position: Consider taking the stairs to the elevated platform on the right side of the cavern. This provides a good vantage point to pick off enemies below and offers some cover. Be wary of Majini attempting to flank you from the other side of the platform.
  4. Explosive Barrels: There are several explosive barrels scattered around this cavern. Use them to your advantage, especially against groups of Armored Majini.
  5. Hidden Items:
    • Check behind the large mining equipment in the center of the cavern for Shotgun Shells.
    • On the elevated platform, look for a First Aid Spray near the railing.

Phase 3: Lower Levels and Final Push

  1. Descent to Lower Levels: After clearing the main cavern, proceed down the next set of ramps. You'll encounter more standard Majini and a few Armored Majini patrolling the narrow pathways.
  2. Mine Cart Area: This section features several mine carts on tracks. While they aren't directly interactive, they provide cover and can be used to funnel enemies. Be careful not to get cornered.
  3. Chainsaw Majini Warning: Towards the end of this section, a Chainsaw Majini will appear. This enemy is extremely dangerous and can instantly kill you with a single hit.
    • Strategy: Prioritize this target immediately. Use your strongest weapons (shotgun or rifle if you have one) and aim for the head. Keep your distance and use the environment (pillars, mine carts) for cover. If you have a grenade, now is the time to use it.
    • Bonus Time: Defeating the Chainsaw Majini awards a significant Bonus Time pickup.
  4. Final Enemies: After the Chainsaw Majini, you'll face a final wave of Majini and potentially one more Armored Majini before the mission concludes.

General Tips for the Mine

  • Headshots are Key: Always aim for the head to maximize damage and conserve ammo.
  • Use Explosives: Red barrels are your best friends in this mission.
