Mission 2-2: Prison
Welcome to Mission 2-2, set within the claustrophobic confines of a prison. This stage demands quick reflexes and efficient enemy management. Your primary objective is to eliminate all targets within the time limit. Expect a high density of standard Ganados and a few tougher variations.
Recommended Loadout
- Character: Chris Redfield is an excellent choice for this mission due to his balanced stats and powerful Shotgun. Jill Valentine's dodge can also be very useful for maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Weapons:
- Shotgun: Essential for crowd control in the narrow corridors.
- Handgun: For precision headshots on individual targets and conserving Shotgun ammo.
- Rifle (Optional): If you prefer to pick off enemies from a distance, but less effective in close quarters.
- Skills:
- Reload Boost: Crucial for maintaining a steady rate of fire.
- Damage Boost: To quickly dispatch tougher enemies.
- Defense Boost: Can be a lifesaver if you get surrounded.
Walkthrough
Starting Area: Cell Block A
You begin in a central area of the prison. Immediately, several Ganados will converge on your position. Prioritize headshots to conserve ammo and trigger melee attacks for bonus time.
- Initial Engagement: Two Ganados will approach from the left corridor, and one from the right. Deal with them quickly.
- Item Location: Check the small alcove directly to your right as you start for a Green Herb.
- Strategy: Use your Handgun for the initial few enemies. If they group up, a well-placed Shotgun blast can clear them out.
Corridor to Cell Block B
Proceed down the main corridor. This area is narrow, making it easy to get overwhelmed if you're not careful.
- Enemy Encounter: Expect 3-4 Ganados to appear as you move forward. One might drop from an upper level.
- Item Location: Halfway down the corridor, on the left, you'll find a small room with a Shotgun Shells pickup.
- Strategy: Backpedal while firing if enemies get too close. Aim for the legs to stun them, then follow up with a headshot or melee.
Cell Block B: Open Area
This larger, more open area features multiple cells and pathways. It's a prime location for enemies to flank you.
- Enemy Encounter: A mix of standard Ganados and at least one Armored Ganado will spawn here. The Armored Ganado requires more shots to the head or a powerful Shotgun blast to the chest.
- Item Location:
- In the center of Cell Block B, near a broken cell door, you'll find Handgun Ammo.
- Inside one of the open cells on the far side, there's a First Aid Spray.
- Strategy: Focus fire on the Armored Ganado first. Use the pillars and cell walls for cover. Don't let enemies surround you; keep moving and create distance.
Upper Level and Final Push
After clearing Cell Block B, look for stairs or a ramp leading to an upper level. More enemies will be waiting.
- Enemy Encounter: Expect 2-3 Ganados on the upper level, and potentially a final wave of 2-3 more as you clear the last few targets.
- Item Location: On the upper walkway, near a dead end, you can pick up a Time Bonus +5 Seconds.
- Strategy: Use the height advantage to pick off enemies below if possible. Be mindful of enemies approaching from behind as you move along the upper path. Conserve your strongest weapons for the final few targets if the timer is tight.
General Tips for Prison
- Melee is Key: Stun enemies with headshots or leg shots and follow up with melee attacks for extra time bonuses. This is crucial for achieving higher ranks.
- Environmental Awareness: The prison has many tight corners and dead ends. Use them to your advantage for cover, but be careful not to get trapped.
- Ammo Management: While ammo is generally plentiful, try to use your Handgun for weaker enemies and save your Shotgun for groups or tougher targets.
- Stay Mobile: Standing still is a death sentence. Keep moving, especially when reloading, to avoid getting hit.
