Mission EX-2: Prison (Night)

Welcome to Mission EX-2: Prison (Night), a challenging nighttime variant of the familiar Prison map. This mission introduces new enemy placements and a significantly darker environment, demanding careful navigation and strategic use of your limited resources. Your primary objective remains to eliminate all enemies within the time limit while maximizing your score.

Recommended Character and Loadout

Character: For this mission, a character with strong area-of-effect capabilities or high damage output is recommended. Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine are excellent choices due to their balanced stats and effective special attacks.
Weapons: Prioritize a powerful shotgun for close-quarters crowd control, an accurate rifle for picking off distant targets, and a handgun for conserving ammo on weaker enemies. Explosive grenades are invaluable for clearing groups of enemies or dealing with tougher foes.
Skills: Equip skills that boost your critical hit rate, increase your melee damage, or extend your combo window. "Adrenaline" can be a lifesaver for quickly recovering from damage.

General Strategies for Prison (Night)

Utilize the Environment: The darkness can be both a hindrance and an advantage. Use the shadows to your benefit for tactical retreats or to ambush unsuspecting enemies. Be mindful of environmental hazards, as they are harder to spot in the dark.
Headshots are Key: As always, aiming for headshots will conserve ammunition and dispatch enemies more efficiently. This is especially crucial in a mission where resources are tighter.
Maintain Your Combo: Continuously chaining kills is vital for achieving high scores. Be aggressive but calculated, ensuring you don't break your combo by taking too much damage or running out of targets.
Listen for Audio Cues: In the dark, enemy groans and footsteps become even more important. Pay close attention to audio cues to anticipate incoming threats.

Detailed Walkthrough

Starting Area & First Encounter

You'll begin in the main courtyard. Immediately turn right and proceed towards the small guard shack. Be prepared for a group of standard Ganados to emerge from the left side of the courtyard. Use your shotgun to quickly dispatch them, aiming for headshots to initiate your combo.

Item Location: Inside the guard shack, you'll find a Green Herb and a box of Handgun Ammo.
Strategy: After clearing the initial wave, quickly grab the items. A few more Ganados will likely approach from the main prison entrance.

The Main Cell Block

Proceed into the main cell block. This area is dimly lit and often swarming with enemies. Expect a mix of standard Ganados and a few Armored Ganados. Prioritize the Armored Ganados with rifle shots to their exposed heads or use a well-placed grenade.

Item Location: Check the cells on both the ground and upper floors. You'll often find Shotgun Shells and Rifle Ammo scattered throughout. A First Aid Spray can sometimes be found in one of the cells on the upper level.
Strategy: Use the narrow corridors to your advantage, funneling enemies into choke points for easy shotgun blasts. Don't get surrounded. If overwhelmed, retreat to the courtyard or a more open area.

The Shower Room & Laundry

The shower room and adjacent laundry area are tight spaces, often housing several stronger enemies, including a Chainsaw Majini. The Chainsaw Majini is a high-priority target due to its devastating attacks.

Item Location: Look for Explosive Grenades near the washing machines in the laundry room. There might also be a Green Herb in one of the shower stalls.
Strategy: As soon as you enter, identify the Chainsaw Majini. Use your most powerful weapon (e.g., shotgun to the head, followed by a melee attack) or an explosive grenade to stun and damage it. Keep your distance and use the environment for cover.

The Upper Walkways & Watchtower

Ascend to the upper walkways overlooking the main cell block. Snipers (Ganados with rifles) often spawn here, making them a significant threat. The watchtower at the end of the walkway is a key strategic point.

Item Location: On the upper walkways, you'll frequently find Rifle Ammo and sometimes a Flash Grenade, which is useful against groups or to stun the Chainsaw Majini if it follows you up.
Strategy: Use your rifle to eliminate the snipers quickly. The watchtower provides good cover and a vantage point, but be aware that enemies can still climb up to reach you. It's a good spot to pick off enemies below, but don't stay stationary for too long.

Final Push & Boss Encounter (Optional)

As the timer dwindles, the remaining enemies will often converge, and a stronger boss-type enemy, such as a Super Majini or even another Chainsaw Majini, may spawn in the main courtyard or cell block. Be prepared for a final, intense confrontation.

Item Location: Before the final wave, quickly sweep any remaining unexplored areas for last-minute ammo or health pickups.
Strategy: Conserve your special attacks and explosive grenades for this final push. Focus fire on the boss enemy while managing the surrounding weaker Ganados. Use your environment for cover and create distance when necessary.
