Mission EX-3: Laboratory (Night)

Welcome to the nocturnal nightmare of the Laboratory! This EX mission ups the ante with increased enemy density and more aggressive AI. Precision and strategic movement are key to racking up a high score and surviving the onslaught.

Recommended Loadout & Strategy

  • Character: Characters with good crowd control abilities or high damage output are recommended. Chris Redfield's Shotgun and Grenade Launcher can be invaluable. Jill Valentine's dodge can also be a lifesaver.
  • Weapons: Prioritize a strong Shotgun for close-quarters encounters, a reliable Pistol for headshots and quick kills, and a Magnum for bosses or tough enemies. The Grenade Launcher (if available) is excellent for clearing groups.
  • Skills: Equipping skills like "Melee Master" for increased melee damage, "Item Drop Boost" for more pickups, or "Quick Reload" can significantly improve your run.

Walkthrough: Initial Area & Upper Levels

You'll begin in the familiar main laboratory area. The layout is the same as the daytime version, but visibility is reduced, making enemies harder to spot from a distance. Stay alert!

  1. Starting Room: Immediately turn right and eliminate the two Majini that spawn. There's a Green Herb on the table to your left.
  2. Central Platform: Proceed to the central platform. Two more Majini will emerge from the surrounding corridors. Focus on headshots to conserve ammo.
  3. Upper Walkway (Left Side): Take the stairs on the left. As you ascend, anticipate a Majini with a shield. Use a well-placed Shotgun blast to stagger them, then follow up with melee or headshots. A Handgun Ammo box is usually found near the top of these stairs.
  4. Upper Walkway (Right Side): Cross to the right side of the upper walkway. Another shielded Majini and a regular Majini will attack. Utilize the environment for cover if needed. You'll find a Shotgun Shells box here.

Lower Levels & Specimen Room

The lower levels are tighter and often feature more dangerous enemy types.

  1. Descent to Lower Level: Head down the stairs on the right side. Be prepared for a Cephalo (the head-bursting parasite) to spawn from one of the Majini as you engage them. Prioritize killing the host quickly to prevent the Cephalo from emerging, or switch to your Shotgun for a one-shot kill on the Cephalo itself.
  2. Corridor to Specimen Room: As you move through the corridor leading to the specimen room, expect multiple Majini, including some with melee weapons. Keep your distance and use your Pistol for precision shots. A First Aid Spray can sometimes be found in a corner here.
  3. Specimen Room Encounter: This room is a hotspot. Several Majini will converge, and often a Big Man Majini (Executioner) will appear.
    • Big Man Strategy: Focus fire on his head with your Magnum or Shotgun. If you have a Grenade Launcher, a direct hit can stun him, allowing for follow-up attacks. Keep your distance and use the central specimen tanks as cover.
    • Item Pickup: After clearing the room, check the shelves and tables for Magnum Ammo and a Green Herb.

Final Stretch & Boss Encounter

The final section often culminates in a challenging boss fight.

  1. Return to Main Area: Head back towards the main laboratory area. More Majini will have respawned, some potentially carrying explosives. Shoot their dynamite to take out groups.
  2. Central Platform (Second Wave): Upon reaching the central platform again, prepare for a significant wave of enemies. This often includes a Gatling Gun Majini.
    • Gatling Gun Majini Strategy: Utilize cover effectively. Aim for his head or the backpack on his back. A well-placed Grenade Launcher round can also be very effective. He drops valuable Gold upon defeat.
    • Item Pickup: Look for Rifle Ammo or Shotgun Shells around the perimeter of the platform.
  3. Final Boss - Uroboros Aheri: The Uroboros Aheri will emerge from the central pit. This boss is highly aggressive.
    • Weak Point: Its weak point is the glowing orange core(s) that appear on its body.
    • Strategy:
      • Maintain distance. Use your most powerful weapons (Magnum, Shotgun) on its weak points.
      • When it extends its tentacles, dodge or run to avoid its sweeping attacks.
      • It will occasionally create smaller Uroboros segments. Destroy these quickly with your Pistol or Shotgun to prevent being overwhelmed.
      • If you have any remaining Grenades or Grenade Launcher rounds, now is the time to use them for massive damage.
    • Survival Tip: There's usually a First Aid Spray or Green Herb located on the upper walkways or near the entrance to the specimen room if you need emergency healing during the fight.

Successfully defeating Uroboros Aheri will complete the mission. Good luck, agent!
