Uriah
Uriah, often mistaken for Urias, is a unique mini-boss encounter in the game, distinct from the Stronghold Urias. This particular Uriah is found in the Beneviento House area, specifically during the segment where you are trying to retrieve the Flask. He is a large, mutated Lycan, but unlike Urias, he does not wield a hammer. Instead, he relies on powerful claw attacks and charges. This encounter is more about environmental awareness and precise dodging than a straightforward damage race.
Your primary objective is to survive his onslaught while navigating a confined space. Uriah's weak point is his head, but hitting it consistently can be challenging due to his aggressive movements. Shotguns and the Grenade Launcher are highly effective for staggering him and creating openings. Keep a close eye on your surroundings for opportunities to create distance or use obstacles to your advantage. Unlike other mini-bosses, Uriah does not drop a unique item, but defeating him clears the path forward and provides valuable Lei and crafting materials.
Strategy:
- Maintain Distance: Uriah is a close-quarters threat. Use the environment to your advantage to create space. The corridors and rooms in the Beneviento House area can be used to funnel him or put objects between you and him.
- Target the Head: While difficult, headshots are crucial for dealing sificant damage and staggering him. Use the M1897 Shotgun or the GM 79 Grenade Launcher with Pipe Bombs for maximum impact.
- Dodge and Weave: Uriah has a powerful charge attack and wide-swinging claw attacks. Learn his tells and dodge sideways or backward to avoid damage. A well-timed block can reduce incoming damage but is not recommended as a primary defense.
- Exploit Staggers: When Uriah is staggered, unload your most powerful weapons into his head. This is your window to deal burst damage.
- Resource Management: This fight can consume a fair amount of ammunition. Ensure you have enough shotgun shells and grenade rounds before initiating the encounter. If you're low, focus on precise headshots with your pistol to conserve stronger ammo for staggers.
- Environmental Hazards: While there aren't specific environmental traps, the tight spaces can be used to your advantage. Lure Uriah into a bottleneck and unleash a shotgun blast as he approaches.
After defeating Uriah, ensure you loot the area thoroughly for any dropped Lei or crafting components before proceeding with your objective in the Beneviento House.
