Handguns
Handguns are your bread and butter in the early hours of Resident Evil Village, and they remain a reliable choice for conserving more powerful ammunition throughout the game. While not as devastating as shotguns or magnums, their quick firing rate and readily available ammunition make them excellent for headshots on weaker enemies and staggering larger foes for follow-up attacks.
There are several handguns you'll encounter, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Mastering their use, especially aiming for critical hit zones, is crucial for efficient resource management and survival. Don't underestimate their utility, even when you acquire more potent firearms.
- M1911: Your starting weapon. Reliable and decent all-around. Focus on upgrading its power and capacity early on.
- LEMI: Found shortly after the M1911. Offers a slightly higher rate of fire. Consider using it for quick, precise shots.
- V61 Custom: A late-game handgun with excellent stats. Its high capacity and damage make it a strong contender for your primary weapon slot.
Tip: Always aim for the head! Even with handguns, headshots deal sificantly more damage and can often stun enemies, giving you precious seconds to reload or reposition.
