Ammunition Conservation & Crafting
Ammunition is your most precious resource in Resident Evil Village. Running out of bullets in a critical encounter can spell disaster. Effective conservation and smart crafting are key to maintaining a healthy supply.
- Headshots are paramount: Always aim for the head or weak points. This not only deals more damage but often stuns enemies, allowing you to follow up with more precise shots or a melee attack to conserve ammo.
- Melee when possible: After stunning an enemy with a shot, follow up with a quick melee attack (R2/RT) to knock them back and deal additional damage without expending more ammo. This is especially effective against weaker Lycans.
- Prioritize crafting: Don't wait until you're completely out of ammo to craft. Keep an eye on your stock and craft in batches when you have downtime or are near a save point. Prioritize crafting ammo for your most used weapons.
- Crafting Recipes:
- Pistol Ammo: 1x Gunpowder, 1x Rusted Scrap
- Shotgun Ammo: 1x Gunpowder, 1x Metal Scrap
- Sniper Rifle Ammo: 1x Gunpowder, 1x Chem Fluid
- Magnum Ammo: 2x Gunpowder, 1x Chem Fluid
- Grenade Launcher Ammo (Explosive): 1x Gunpowder, 1x Rusted Scrap, 1x Chem Fluid
- Grenade Launcher Ammo (Flashbang): 1x Gunpowder, 1x Metal Scrap, 1x Chem Fluid
- Explore thoroughly: Ammunition can be found in crates, barrels, and hidden corners. Always break open every container and check every nook and cranny.
- Use the Knife: Against isolated, weaker enemies (like Moroaică or the crawling Lycans), the knife can be a surprisingly effective ammo-saving tool, especially if you can get behind them for a stealth kill.
Healing & Inventory Management
Maintaining your health and keeping your inventory organized are crucial for survival, especially during intense combat sequences.
- First Aid Meds: These are your primary healing items. They restore a sificant portion of your health. Craft them using 1x Herb and 1x Chem Fluid. Always try to keep at least 2-3 on hand.
- Healing Strategy: Don't heal immediately after taking minor damage. Wait until your health is in the yellow or red zone, or if you anticipate another major hit. Over-healing wastes valuable resources.
- Inventory Slots: Your inventory space is limited. Prioritize weapons, ammo, and healing items. Key items will automatically be stored in a separate tab.
- Selling Treasures: Collect all treasures you find and sell them to Duke. This is your primary source of Lei, which can then be used to purchase weapon upgrades, ammo, and crafting materials. Don't hold onto treasures unless they are part of a combinable set (e.g., Dimitrescu's Necklace).
- Weapon Prioritization: Carry weapons that cover different combat scenarios. A pistol for general use, a shotgun for close-quarters, and a sniper rifle for long-range engagements is a good baseline. Don't carry too many weapons if you're struggling with inventory space.
- Crafting Materials: Always pick up Gunpowder, Rusted Scrap, Metal Scrap, Herbs, and Chem Fluid. These are essential for crafting ammo and healing items.
