The Path to the Stronghold

Having dealt with the immediate threats around the Church and gathered the necessary components, your next major objective is to reach the Stronghold. This fortified location holds a crucial piece of the puzzle you're assembling, but the path there is fraught with danger. This section will guide you through the treacherous journey, highlighting key encounters, resource opportunities, and strategic approaches to ensure your safe arrival.

The route to the Stronghold is linear but challenging, featuring several new enemy types and environmental hazards. Preparation is key: ensure your inventory is stocked with ammunition, healing items, and any craftable explosives you can manage. Consider upgrading your preferred weapons at the Duke's Emporium before embarking on this journey, as the enemies you'll face are more resilient than those encountered previously in the village proper.

Your journey begins from the Church, heading towards the western exit of the village. As you leave the immediate vicinity of the Church, you'll notice a distinct change in the atmosphere and enemy patrols. Keep your guard up and be ready for ambushes.

Leaving the Church: Exit the Church and proceed through the gate you previously unlocked.
The Graveyard Path: Follow the path through the graveyard. Be wary of a few Lycans patrolling this area. A well-placed pipe bomb can clear them out quickly if they group together.
The Lone House: You'll come across a small, dilapidated house on your left. Inside, you can find some Lei and a few crafting materials. Check the drawers and shelves thoroughly.
The Bridge: Continue along the main path until you reach a rickety wooden bridge. Cross it carefully. As you cross, look to your right for a small alcove containing a hidden treasure.
The Ambush Point: Immediately after crossing the bridge, you'll enter a more open area. This is a common ambush point for several Lycans. use the environment for cover and prioritize headshots. If you have a shotgun, this is an excellent opportunity to use it for crowd control.
The Gate to the Stronghold Path: After clearing the ambush, you'll find a large, ornate gate. Interact with it to open the path leading directly to the Stronghold's exterior.

As you approach the Stronghold, the environment becomes more rugged and the enemy presence intensifies. Stay vigilant and conserve your resources where possible, as the Stronghold itself will present its own set of formidable challenges.
